I had gastric bypass on 2-22-22. I would like to say I'm extremely appreciative for everyone on here. The candid topics of bowel movements, pain in abdomen, food and calorie consumption, among other topics, have been refreshing. (Oh, and tips on how to edit a profile!)

I do not really post but I am glad to have this community of peers to help and inform me through this change.

Hello and welcome. How are you doing post op so far??

I'm doing okay.

My surgery was initially supposed to be out-patient, but my vitals dropped while in recovery, so I had to stay 2 nights. The first night I was in a lot of pain and extremely nauseous. The nausea subsided by the time I got home. By the 4th day post op, the pain was just a discomfort; I didn't even need pain meds.

I have been focusing on my Protein intake and trying more solid foods. Most things are tolerated.

I have been consistently losing .4-.6lbs per day which is nice since my joint and back pain are easing up allowing me to move more.

I'm still in the early stages and learning my body.

Thank you for asking.

So glad to hear you are recovering relatively well. That’s great that you have a scale that measures the small losses (less than a pound). Mine is supposed to and it gives me random weights with ounces but I don’t think it’s accurate down to the ounce or I would have seen losses more like yours.

I love it here too. If you read back someone has asked every question you will ever come up with. Sounds like you're doing really well. 🤩

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
