Had my surgery on the 5th

Stick with it. Sip, sip, sip all day long. Also do some sugar free flavored popsicles, they're lifesavers at getting the liquid down easily . They count as liquid.

I found that I enjoyed sucking on ice cubes right after surgery, and that I was better able to drink if I kept the beverage in my hand or right next to me. Because it hurt to move and stretch, it was hard if I put it a few feet away.

Also, try different beverages (plain Water no longer tastes good to me!) and different temps. I liked my drinks very cold, but some people prefer them hot/warm right after surgery. Try hot herbal tea or broth for example.

Looks like others have it covered. I will just add that it gets a little bit better each day. Hang in there. 👍

Ice cubes are great I agree with that and it gets the eating and crunchy need to stop. I feel that cold things made my tummy feel better like maybe helped with swelling? But also sugar free Gatorade is awesome I would dilute my Water with it to get more in but I drank it cold cold cold with ice

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
