Recommended Posts

So today is my last day of the “old” me. I’m starting the shakes part of the journey tomorrow. No turning back! 😁

Yes, I’m worried about the same thing too. I have to remind myself that WLS is a strong tool. I’m having RNY and it will correct the hiatal hernia and GERD. The only way to get better is to go through.

Me too. Hiatal hernia and GERD/Barrett's. So it's RNY for me also!

Anybody else getting cold feet?

I was not loosing weight anymore on the pre-op plan because I was thinking about how loosing all this weight is making me go through peri-menopause again. (I had it bad with arthritis aches, sweating, Migraines, and moodiness.). I was thinking that I’m paying and working hard to go through it again.

Then I had an asthma attack and couldn’t sleep for three nights in a row. Finally my epiphany happened and I remembered that the terrible asthma is why I want to be healthy. The pre-op plan reduces inflammation and helps keep asthma away! Peri-menopause is temporarily, I want to see my son grow up. I’m back on track.

What is keeping you on track?

I had spine surgery in March. I’m still getting shooting pain down my leg. I gotta get this wait off my discs!

I have a 1 year old who needs and active mom and a 10 year old who needs a good role model! I’m stoked! August 6th can’t come soon enough!

Preop is going well. It has a definite end date so it’s in sight! One and a bit weeks in, 2 and a bit to go. I am ever so slightly hungry but a drink of Water helps. If that’s not working, I have a bag of carrots on my desk that I munch on. 6 kg down so far

Wow! I've been on my journey since February 2021. I'm so glad I now I have a date. I was denied by my insurance after 5 months of pre-op appointments so I'll be going to Mexico.

I am going to have mine done in Mexico too on Aug 21st. I am super nervous as I am going alone.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
