I am four days postop and I am not having any issues with fluids. I had some hiccups yesterday from drinking too fast that lasted about an hour but then after that I am able to drink over 60 ounces a day and I’m wondering if that is normal or if there’s something wrong with my surgery. I feel likeI shouldn’t be able to hold or drink this much Water per day just yet. Any thoughts?

Fluids will typically go straight through the stomach and some people can tolerate more straight off. If you are drinking more than your post op guidelines suggest you should be able to manage at this point, don't drink so much or maybe have a chat with your surgeon or contact at the surgeon's office.

Wow good for you. I couldn't even tolerate drinking sips of Water for about 4-5 months out. It would make me feel nauseous. If you are able to drink that much at this point, I think its great.

I never had an issue with drinking fluids - and the PA at my clinic said it was fine - that my stomach would let me know if I was overdoing it.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
