I had my bypass surgery November 2nd 2020. I was wondering if there is anything out there to help tighten your skin? I'm down almost 70 lbs and I have loose skin around my trunk and thighs. Any suggestions would be great. Thank you

No magic bullet for loose skin. If you’re relatively young and haven’t been overweight very long, and have good skin elasticity it may retract. Otherwise, not so much. I’m down over 130lbs. At 51 and overweight most of my adult life I had a ton of loose skin. I had plastic surgery to have it removed from my abdomen and arms last month, as well as having a breast lift & augmentation. No regrets, even if I hadn’t been able to have plastic surgery I’d take the loose skin over that 130lbs any day. Check out the PS board, lots of folks have done the same as I did.

☝Agreed
Unfortunately there is probably nothing (non surgical) for the amount of excess skin we WLS folks have. And if you find something that promises wonders it will likely cost more than traditional skin removal surgeries with less effect.

Thank you both. I have it in my plans to have the skin removal surgery. I think I will wait a year or so past my WLS date. Also can someone tell me how to update my Surgery info on Bariatric Pals?

Easiest on the full site, harder on mobile

Go to the menu section and under account you’ll find options for profile or account settings. I believe it’s under one of those menu items

I had my surgery on the same day as you, down 83 pounds, my dr said I should wait till one year to have skin removal surgery. I exercise 5 days a week and there is some tightening but its not going to be like it was before,, sigh. So I do plan to have it removed.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
