yeah - there is no other reason. Every patient in the practice get the "no caffeine" two weeks pre-op and 4 weeks post op. Frustrating.

Think of it as a positive. Caffeine can be hard on an inflamed and healing stomach. Best to get the withdrawals over during pre-op rather than immediate post-op while dealing with possible gas, pain, acid reflux and whatever else post op. Once healed and all going well it can be introduced.

March 17th for me. I’ve already been weaning off of caffeine as I won’t be able to get it at the hospital post-op. I get a headache early afternoon so I’ve worked on reducing my intake. My pre-op diet starts 3/9. Have to take in only 1000 cals/day to reduce the size of my liver during the pre-op stage. Good luck everyone! It’s a gift to ourselves to live a longer and healthier life.

Absolutely. It’s 2:15 And I have to be at hospital at 5:30 this morning and I am wide awake with all the same feelings. I will Check in afterwards when feeling up to it.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
