February 2021 Sleeve Surgery

Recommended Posts

I'll be moving over to the post-op section now, but wanted to check in and say hi, I survived :) This was not an easy surgery and the past few days have been rough. I really hope this is worth it in the end.

Hi everyone! I am new to this site. Is there anyone else who is scheduled in February for gastric sleeve? I am scheduled on February 8.

Yes, I did on February 4th! Best decision I made this far! Prayers for you and let us know how it goes!

So close schedule for 9th and just tested positive for covid. Crazy because I feel fine. Oh well maybe third time will be the charm.

I had my surgery Feb 1st.

I have to be honest and say I'm having a hard time and at this point I wish I did not do the surgery. I may change my mind as I go along but right now I'm starving, I'm uncomfortable, in pain and just want to sleep cause I'm so weak.

Sorry, I wish I had more positive news to share.

I hear you. Has your bariatric team been able to provide any solutions?

Mine was the 3rd and the first 4 days were HELL, but Day 5 I seemed to turn a corner. I hope you're able to get some relief soon.

I totally understand. Yesterday was day 5 and I felt good. I woke up this morning feeling terrible. I am so weak today. I am honestly thinking about going to the doc. All I keep thinking is this too shall pass. 😢

I was also done Feb 1st. I felt regret days 1 - 2 but I am feeling much better now. Does your team have you drinking any sugar? I am hypoglycemic and some days I wake up feeling awful because my sugar is so low. My team said for the first 2 week while I am on Clear Liquids only I can have full sugar gatorade or Powerade, cranberry juice or apple juice. I had to do half drink and half juice. the days I feel really bad I will have 8 oz cranberry juice with 8 oz Water. I also got Protien20 water to get some Protein in while on clear liquids. I hope you start feeling better soon. It will all be worth it in the end.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks
