Hi all, I'm new here. My name is Rachel and I'm 34. I had my sleeve done 12/23. I also had a hernia repair as well. I feel very blessed that I have not had any nausea or any other major side effects. Haven't had a lot of pain at all surprisingly. My main struggles have been gas pains, burping, and a very strong tightening sensation when I swallow. I have been very tired since the surgery and find myself having to take naps during the day. Something I am not used too. But anyway just wanted to introduce myself!

Welcome to the forums, Rachel. Congrats on your WLS and having little to no adverse side effects or issues. Like you, I had no pain and just the 24 hours of nausea post-op while still in the hospital. You're going to be tired for about 5-7 days while your body is healing from major surgery but you'll bounce back in no time. Nice to meet you.

Hi! I'm new too, my surgery was on the 24th of December so we are practically twins. I've been having some gas pains it's getting less and less every day. I usually start to take a walk right as I'm feeling it, and I did start taking chewable gas x sometimes 15 minutes before my medications. (I find I swallow a lot of air when I take meds). I hope you continue to heal well!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
