can i take care of myself after i leave hospital?

Recommended Posts

By the time you come home, you should be ok to take care of yourself, but if you have to care for others that will be difficult. I just had my gastric sleeve on the 28th and I have been just resting. I did an hour walk today but I think that was a little to much for my body to soon.

You’ll be fine to care for yourself

I prepared individual servings of broth and froze them. I had frozen one ounce "ice cubes" of watered down juices; and things like that ready for my first week home. I did not go upstairs for a first day home, the drive home was painful, so I camped out on the sofa/recliner - downstairs. My teen daughter was home but not involved at the time.

Be prepared - have the things you will need at hand, and be good to yourself.

I was fine by myself after being driven home from my gastric sleeve. I don’t anticipate my sleeve to RNY to be any different on the 11th once I’m discharged home.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
