So I’m new here, I found this place on google when searching and I figured I would join and see if I can get some insight from people going through similar things as me.

i had gastric sleeve/hernia repair on Monday (5/18/2020) I started full liquid diet yesterday and I have noticed after every Protein Shake (premier protein) I get diarrhea within 20-30 minutes. Is this normal? Diarrhea didn’t start until I got home from hospital. I have only attempted to eat Jello and that was prior to bed last night so I don’t think it caused diarrhea. I am struggling with fluids and getting them down so the idea of having diarrhea too is stressing me out. Advice please?

i have definitely put a call into my doctor but no response yet.

Could be temporary lactose intolerance??? Some people seem to develop it after surgery.

I wasn't allowed Protein Shakes for the first week after my surgery. So your stomach may still just be adjusting... but, maybe try a plant based Protein to start off.

My Vitamins did that to me. My pcp said the ones I was taking were too much. Once I stopped them the issue also did.

I agree with this - we hear about that on bariatric forums fairly often.

Sleeved on 5-20 and Clear Liquids a week before. I’ve had the same thing even without a lactose based product. Not a lot of Fiber to firm up stool just yet, I think!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
