About Jay M Snow
Jay Michael Snow, M.D. is a board-certified bariatric surgeon at St. Louis Bariatrics. As the founder of St. Louis Bariatrics, as well as the Bariatric Medical Director at Mercy Hospital Jefferson, Dr. Snow is passionate about helping patients live healthier lives through bariatric medicine. He specializes in a range of weight loss procedures, including Gastric Bypass Surgery, Gastric Sleeve Surgery, Gastric Band, and Bariatric Revision Surgery as well as non-surgical procedures such as Endoscopic Sleeve Gastroplasty (ESG) and Gastric Balloon.
Dr. Snow earned his Bachelor’s degree in Nutrition and Fitness from the University of Missouri, Columbia. He continued on to medical school at MU and completed his general surgery residency at the University of Oklahoma. Thereafter, he completed a yearlong fellowship in Bariatric Surgery at the Minnesota Institute for Minimally Invasive Surgery. While there, he perfected his surgical technique and management of complex patients by performing over 1,000 surgeries and procedures.
Dr. Snow has been recognized with many awards, including “Top Doctor in St. Louis” several years consecutively, and Vitals Patients Choice Awards “Compassionate Doctor Recognition”, for which he holds the distinction of being awarded five years in a row. He is an active member of the American Society for Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery and was vital to the development of one of the busiest weight loss surgery programs in the St. Louis area. Additionally, Dr. Snow was involved with the establishment of Des Peres Hospital as an ASMBS Surgical Center of Excellence, awarded by the Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery Accreditation and Quality Improvement Program (MBSAQIP).
Dr. Snow and the staff at St. Louis Bariatrics are committed to exceptional patient care and personalized treatment plans designed to help patients achieve long-term weight loss success. Patients of Dr. Snow routinely compliment him on his bedside manner and sense of humor. When he is not helping patients, Dr. Snow is an active member of St. Justin Martyr Parish and enjoys being outdoors, following St. Louis sports, and spending time with his wife and their four sons.
