Sounds like gastroesophageal reflux from your sleeve. Try not to eat or drink close to bedtime, maybe raise the head of your bed or sleep on a couple of extra pillows. Hopefully after the swelling in your stomach goes down the Fluid will stay where it's supposed to be!

I agree, I coughed like crazy after surgery and kept the lady awake all night that was in the room with me. I have Gerd and that is when it started. Good luck

Hi Tracyringo, thanks. Each night seems to be a little bit better. I never heard of GERD and looked it up. I never had acid re flux or anything like that until after my surgery. I take Prilosec daily in the morning and last night I also took one before bed. Still woke up coughing but I slept longer before it started. It is painful and pretty scary. I don't eat or drink anything after 6. Bless you and congrats on your journey.

It was my 3rd PPI that took care of it. Have you talked to your Dr. about trying a better PPI ?

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
