Abdominal pain...feeling stupid.

Recommended Posts

First time posting...and trying to calm myself down that I haven’t screwed this up already. I had my bypass 13 days ago, and have been feeling AMAZING. Today, though, I made two mistakes- I picked up the kitchenaid blender to put it away (waaay too heavy) and felt a little soreness. It went away after a while and then for dinner my family was having pizza. I had a very small portion of the ricotta cheese from a calzone, but there was a little mozzarella mixed in. I chewed super well but tummy didn’t like it. I threw up a little and have had a sore abdomen all evening. It’s been about 4 hours and my abdomen/stomach is still sore and tender to the left of my belly button, below the rib cage. I’ve googled every thing I can think of. Did I tear something? Is it leaking? Or is it common after a vomiting episode to still be sore hours later? I just feel disappointed in myself, and scared I’ve done real damage.

If your symptoms persists, or you are really worried call your Team in the morning.

Usually the recommendation is not to lift more that 5-10lbs for quite a while. Also vomiting can engage your core which is still healing that soon from surgery.

Good Luck 💚

When I got sick that second week after surgery (from the flavoring in MOM) I felt like crap fir over 24 hours. I went back to Clear Liquids only and a little yogurt. By day 2 I was back to the new normal.

I did this before with tuna fish and it was a hell of a night honestly what I did was take a few days and went back on a liquid diet even tho my pain was gone the next day and then started back on my soft food diet the following week. But if your still feeling the pain call your surgeon. If not back to the liquid phase really really helped and the next week I was fine after trying the tuna fish.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
