No protein shakes 1st week post op??

Recommended Posts

So are you only on clears then? I’ve heard of this but I only did clears day 1. Every surgeon is different I guess.

Many surgeons have different protocols. In early post op best not be swayed by other protocols, if you have issues at least you can say truthfully to your surgeon that you followed their post op guidelines.

I am astounded by the variation in protocols, but I guess over time surgeons vary their post op guidelines based on the outcomes of their own patients plus their own training/knowledge/experience/etc

agree with HOP_Scotch.

just follow the plan as directed. In a few months none of this will matter in the least.

when your there looking forward it seems long and daunting but in six months looking back it will all look like a moment in your life.

Work the fluids as much as you can. Dehydration is the big enemy you must watch for.

you can go weeks to months without eating and will not die, wont enjoy it but you will not die

just a few days without Water can end you.

So its easy to see the real #1 goal in your life is always water. The rest will come with time. don't stress over the small stuff and except for water it is all small stuff

congrats on your surgery and i wish you all the best in the coming weeks and months.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
