You are going to have hungry days after surgery, as well. Most of us forgot what "hungry" really felt like while we were packing on the pounds. This is a great time to read all the threads about head hunger and mind games. Try to use it as a learning tool for future challenges.

For real, your doctors need to get on point with mine. My pre-op diet was 1 day of Clear Liquids. Most if not all of us had to lose weight to get to a goal before surgery anyways, our livers shrunk in that time. My surgeon said my liver was gorgeous when she went in there.

Good luck though! Mix things up.

Around day 3 ketosis kicks in and stops the hunger being so strong. Such a hard thing to do but totally worth it. A cliche but true = YOU CAN DO THIS.

Every time you feel tempted to eat have a big drink and THINK about why you have started this journey. Think of all the positives having the surgery will provide you AND remember that 2 weeks will soon be long gone and you will be post-op and not be hungry at all and it will have all been so worth the small struggle as you watch the weight melting away :D

keep busy too, try and do things that you can get engrossed in to take your mind off the hunger.

GOOD LUCK and see you on the other side :D

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
