Great question! My surgery is also scheduled for Dec. 10th, and my doctor hasn't mentioned a binder. So, I'm not sure if it's needed. Thoughts anyone?

I never had one. I DID for plastic surgery, but not for RNY. Not sure if it's really needed with laproscopic surgeries, but some people find them helpful for getting in and out of bed (you'll probably have sore abs - and supposedly binders can help with that)

I had one for my sleeve, just had to ask for it in the hospital.

I had one for my first surgery 21 years ago, but back then they did mine open, so I had an incision from my diaphragm to my pubis. I kind of wished for one this time, but I was 2 weeks out when I thought of it.

My Weight Loss Winter Checklist: Sweatpants & Zip Up Hoodie, T-Shirt, Joggin Shorts, Socks, Boxer's, Slide on Sandals, Cell Phone & Charger, Deodorant, Beathe Mints, Chapstick, Abdominal Blinder & Firm Pillow. Gas X Soft Gel Tablets. water bottle & Sunglasses, Backpack

Good list, can be modified for a woman. No boxers / boy shorts instead for comfort, sports bra, I still want that zip up hoodie, t-shirt, sunglasses, lip balm, hair in a high bun, backpack or cute gym bagfor light packing, no jogging shorts, but everything else you said, once I figure out the binder. I need my own pillowcase at least on 1 pillow.

Someone here recommended an extra long charging cord. I’m glad. It was great so I didn’t have to get up or move much at first. I didn’t use much. I worked from my phone the same night.

Lip balm and wet wipes. I used my

phone a lot for google translate as I had my surgery abroad.
I also bought a nice gift for the ‘Foreign Guest Liaisons ‘ person I had been communicating with.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
