Been lurking for awhile. It's going down tomorrow at 10am, so I broke down and created an account. I'm sure I'll be back with questions. It's been great reading other people's experiences. I think I'm ready.

Hey all! I'm still in hospital, but looking to get discharged today. Been walking some and using that old air blower thingies.

Not a lot of pain, except in my back. Soreness on the belly but not unbearable. I'll be glad to get unhooked from all these wires!!

So very happy to start this leg of my journey!

Hey everyone!
Sx date was 11/19
Discharged yesterday 11/20 around noon. Only did a one night stay.

I am feeling better than I imagined. No serious gas pains. Stomach tight/slight discomfort. I think my throat is the worst of all.

I'm 4 days postop. I had a two night hospital stay because of severe nausea and my blood pressure staying high. Once the gas started passing was when I began to feel better. Today my goal is to walk a little more than I have around the house but that's it. Nothing too heavy and strenuous. Continued success everyone.

21 day update post op everything is going good now I can have soft food but barely want anything at all just mainly trying to focus on getting enough liquids and Protein Shakes in on a daily basis so I definitely don’t want any foods haven’t weighed since my last post so roughly a little over 30lbs list so far I’m not in any pain anymore........I’m back at work now ......I get supplies cases ready for surgery not a lot of lifting but I walk a lot about 60-100 cases daily so I wear 3lbs weights on my ankles for past 3days this well all day say from 10a-8p definitely gona keep  and I use a gazelle for 30 min to 1 hr daily try to keep that up as well that up that’s pretty much what’s going on with me right now sending prayers and hugs to you all on this journey some days are harder than others but end the end we all got this 💪🏾💪🏾💪🏾 🤗

I’m 5 days po and steadily making progress. I didn’t need any pain meds today and was able to do a slow, easy 30 min walk. I gained 7 pounds of Fluid retention, so working on losing that at the moment - lol. Can't wait to start losing in earnest. I’m hitting my Protein and Water goals, so I’m happy with my body’s adjustment to surgery. Got home from Mexico last night and it feels so good to be home!

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
