One or two bites of some dessert at Christmas (about 2 months post op). Was in the bathroom alternating between barfing, dry heaving and 💩-ing for approx 45 mins. And i’m not even a very-big-on-dessert-person in the first place!

Horrible.

I’ve had it probably 2 more times since (and I’m 8 months post op now). Mixed drinks and wedding cake were the probable causes those times.

Never, so far. I am avoiding anything with sugar. I made two birthday cakes this week. I feel so good after turning down the cake and ice cream. The short term sweet taste is not worth the risk of dumping - not when I hear how awful it is from everyone else's experiences.

I had what I think was an episode of dumping syndrome a little over a week ago (4.5-5 weeks post op). It wasn't sugar, but really bad scheduling on my part... I was late with my mid morning Protein Shake and then ate lunch (roasted red pepper Soup with unflavoured Protein powder) a half hour later. Within 15 minutes my heart was racing, I was dizzy and had to lay down, nauseated, and many trips to the toilet. Learned that I have to give my body time to process everything I consume.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
