So wild how subjective this is, but I think you physically looked leaner at 137lbs. Question for you...had you started weight loss shenanigans with food/sugar and booze at 137lbs?

Cuz you look like super low body fat on the right. It looks like you have abdominal padding (tiny bit more) on the left. That could be explained by bigger insulin responses to food...puts the fat storage first, on the lower abs.

Oh hun, *laughing* the photos are not me. It’s an example off a weightlifting web sight.

Haha Agreed! I was like..."Dayummmmm! I wouldn't even look that good at any of her weights AFTER PLASTICS!" *snort* Still laughin my butt off over here!

But I do bring up the diff in low abdomens too...I have noticed, since adding back some very limited maintenance crap, that even though my weight is low (at 133 this morning now at 131.6), my tummy/hip measurement is slightly larger than it was when I weighed close to 140lbs. I can only attribute it to the question I'd posed to @ms.sss. I think that even adding my treats and the occasional wine or booze, is giving me more insulin response and I'm gaining weight in my lower abs from it. Thoughts?

My thoughts, even with weight fluctuations, I see you as tiny in the OOTD photos. You are maintaining and it’s reasonable to enjoy the occasional indulgences. Is it weight gain? bloating/water retention? Insulin response? body image or TMI Constipation? I have no idea.

I’m older, I will never look like @ms.sss. I'll never have six pack abs. *laughing*

You asked "Question for you...had you started weight loss shenanigans with food/sugar and booze at 137lbs?" The example in the photos is body composition. The link below will explain.

Interesting 5’4” and 120 lbs? I hit my low at 120 md it is a bit too low for me Not sure what you think.
On another note wine 🥂🍷🍸🥃🍷🍷🍷🥂🍹🍾🍾🍾🍹 when I drink I retain at least a few lbs for close to a week. I do not drink often but for me my body holds on! Some wines and clear spirits have a lower sugar level but I need to stay on a program for life. So all my pain can not be champagne. 🙁🙁🙁🙁🙁☹️

Excellent article!! Thanks for sharing that.

LOL on never having @ms.sss six pack abs. I know!!! *wailing* But we can dream right? LOL Specially since plastics will only be happenin in my dreams. *le sigh* So I will just have to be envious and yet happy for these ladies who have all worked their keester off!!!

I am maintaining though...that is a good point. I don't feel like I'm being overly restrictive. I have way more monkey bizness meals/days now--especially on weekends. But then on weekdays, I'm back to beeswax. Yeah I hear ya, it could be all of those things, especially constipation/bloat!

And BTW!!! You look as fanfreakintastic as @ms.sss!!! Totally gorgeous with an enviable figure!

Oh I’m 5’4 1/2 surgeon goal for me was 145. I reached 135. Online says ideal weight for my height is 120s

I’ve noticed weight loss calories are not a one size fits all. What were your weight loss calories before you started using the lose it app? You may need to dial your calories up or down to find where your body loses weight.

I didn’t track them before. I do really well with meals but I have a big sweet tooth with Hot tomales candies and m&ms. I wasn’t realizing how many I was eating so I started tracking it and reduced it to pretty much no m&ms and 21 pieces when I have the hot tomales. Which is like 220 calories so I log it and it keeps me accountable and I actually eat less candy this way and less often. I didn’t realize the few handfuls here and there that they were adding up. So now that I’m logging everything it’s made me realize a lot. food wise I’m doing really well. It was the candy that I wasn’t. Anyways that’s what made me start logging.

Omg the past 2 pages of this thread have me cracking up!

Okay so we need desperately to duplicate exactly the workout regimen of the chick in the photos.
I think I look leaner than 162 bc of the Pilates I do, but dayum... that chick is smoking hot and I’d love to shrink many more inches off of my waistline and not have to lose a whole lot more poundage.

Related to the muscle vs. fat discussion, I have an appointment for a Dexa scan this weekend. I got a two scan package, so I'll have my second scan after plastics.

Disappointed to read though that silicone implants distort Dexa readings 😖

I’m doing terrible with adding food to live forever on this maintenance.
I am totally depressed I spent 2 months in Florida walked a mile or two every day stayed below 1000 calories a day and lost nothing!!! Now I’m gaining since I’m home probably cuz I am so disgusted. I can only eat small amounts but am hungry an hour later. I was never hungry like this before I had surgery. Ugh it was hell having the prep surgery and post op issues and why to be so unhappy. Help. Do I need a string?

some people can only maintain on very few calories - I'm so glad I'm not one of them, and I'm so sorry you are!! I was maintaining well by averaging 1700 calories a day, which was do-able. But I seem to be struggling lately, so I may need to drop down a bit (maybe 1500-1600). Crap!! It is SO HARD to cut back on calories once you're used to eating more!!!!

Question for anyone, how did you get your mind right before surgery? Like as far as eating better foods and just doing better in general? I'm having a really hard time with this. Any help is appreciated 🙏❤️

I had about 6 months between deciding to do surgery and getting scheduled. I came across the book The Pound of Cure by Dr. Matthew Weiner, a bariatric surgeon in Arizona, and started to implement some of the changes he recommended (and lost 13 lbs in the process without ever feeling deprived). The book is very simple, and the focus is on whole, plant based foods, but within reason. It's not an all or nothing approach, or going vegan or something, but focuses on improvement and aiming for getting it right 80-90% of the time. His suggestions are divided into 12 sections that you can tackle over time, perhaps one per month for a year if a person is just trying to improve nutrition and build good habits. They range from things like cutting out artificial sweetener or eating more beans to eating a pound of vegetables per day. I found it really effective pre-surgery and it's an eating style I will be working to get back to as I am further out from surgery and have more capacity. Small changes you can sustain will do the most for building good habits for life.

That sounds awesome. I'll have to check that out thanks!

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
