No preop diet for me as well just clear liquids after a light Breakfast day before surgery day!!
EVERYONE that said time sneaks up on you was ABSOLUTELY right!!!

My surgeon only required the clear liquid diet 2 days before surgery. I’m supposed other people are doing it for so long. My surgery date is August 20th!

What does your post-op diet look like? How long will you be on clear liquids, then full liquids, etc?

My surgeon requires two weeks pre-op of the clear liquids and Protein Shakes, but only 2 days post-op will be clear liquids, then two weeks of full liquids, and then purées. I do think this is good prep for the post-op diet, plus I’ve already dropped 9 lbs, so it’s a good start :)

We are officially in *my* (and others' of course) week! Very excited. Today is my last full day of work, tomorrow will be a half day. I am supposed to get a call tomorrow afternoon with the time for me to report to the hospital. I am very much over the liquid diet and I am ready to have the procedure done and really get on with it!

I bought a cookbook on Amazon for me to use for all of the various stages. I'm very excited to get my hands on it, dog ear and start planning for the rest of my life :)

2 days of clear liquid pre op. Then 1day of clear liquid post op. Then full liquid diet. He said I should leave the hospital on a full liquid diet. Full liquid is usually for 2 weeks depending on how your doing.

Well that’s not too bad is it? :)

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
