I’m home from the hospital. Got home yesterday evening after a two night stay. My recovery is going well. My tummy is sore, but that is to be expected. No gas pain. No nausea or trouble keeping any of the Protein Shakes down. I am keeping up well on my Fluid intake. And, I’m keeping up with the schedule of meds. The one freak that happened is that I pulled muscle in my back trying to turn over on my side in the hospital bed. So, I left with awful lower left back pain. I’m resting all day today in the hope that the back pain will subside and I’ll be able to move about more tomorrow. How long before any of you started to feel kind of normal again?
Ok so I was sleeved 6/4. You sound just like me. I only took two nausea pills after I left the hospital. Had no issue with fluids. Took me about 5 days and by 1 week I felt great. Only issue I’m having is mental bc I’m tired of a liquid diet.

Agreed, I could definitely stand to move past the liquids. 🤪 That said, I am sure I’ll make it a few more days. I get to start soft/puréed food on Monday. 🤪

Lol me too😕 I didn’t have to do a pre op liquid diet at all except the day before surgery. I don’t know how some of these guys lasted 4-6 weeks on clears and liquid. I’m impressed. They told me I would go from clear to full liquid when I was discharged then do liquids a week then purée. After surgery they told me they’re changing the plan to 2 weeks of full liquid. I wasn’t mentally prepared for 2 weeks😂

Got home on Sunday. Feeling more normal, but my larger incision still hurts. Getting there though.

So I got home on Wednesday evening (and surgery was Tuesday). All things considered I'm doing very well. I'm still pretty sore, but I'm able to walk around the house and a bit outside. I'm just having a hard time getting my fluids in, but today I came very close, and even got in most of my vitamins! I am on a liquid diet until the 26th, then after that appt I can start in on pureed foods... which is good, because I currently have about zero interest in solid foods!

Thank you guys all for the support, I've been thinking about you!

Tomorrow starts the liquid diet! I literally just had a lobster for lunch 😂

I'm thinking seriously of Red Lobster for my "last meal".

That would seem logical to me unless they are worried about fruit sugars which i would think negligible in Watermelon. It always produced slight diarrhea in my Daddy but maybe he are too much at one sitting LOL😛

Every post op plan seems so different depending on surgeon - I see some allowed cream of wheat or grits- I’d kill for that right now some way to get savory I’m a week out from ds and no problems getting Protein or fluids - no nausea - minus the thought of consuming any more protein added broth-

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
