  • I had sleeve to bypass, but not because of GERD. My sleeve was so stretched out, it was useless. I'm happy to answer any questions about the process.

Hi bubbz, I had my surgery a week ago. I'm still sore and it's been a bit bumpy at times, but you expect that with surgery. The main thing is, NO REFLUX! I've been taking protonix (which causes bone l

I’m a week out from surgery. I had severe reflux before. Not once since! I hiccup a bit and get chest gas pain but it could still be leftover from surgery. I’ve had a few times where I thought acid would come up but it hasn’t! I’m in the deep depression phase where I regret my surgery but in my heart of hearts I don’t even though I’m depressed and feeling low. I am taking 1x a day Prevacid for a month but even before surgery meds did nothing.

I am 5 days post op of a sleeve revision. I was sleeved 26 days ago and had severe complications. I was unable to tolerate any liquids let alone anything else. I suffered from severe acid and bile reflux. Happy to report as of now I am feeling great. I am close to meeting my new protein goal of 80 grams.

I am still in some pain as the revision lasted 3 hours and I have a few more incision sites but getting better every day. Tylenol Liquid has provided relief.

I have to say reading the various posts on this site helped me get through the past 30 days. Thank you all who contribute!

I’m planning a revision from the sleeve. I look forward to keeping up with everyone’s journey

Syltx3,
I have tricare for life and Medicare I am hoping that they will approve it asap because I am absolutely miserable with my meds not being as effective as it should be. Thanks for posting this post gives me lots of hope.

Did anyone have problems with insurance covering the revision? I have bcbs FEP
Yes, for me its been a pain in the butt. However, there is always hope. I am fighting for my health with my docs against the insurance company. Its a matter of life/death and they 're making me prove it. I have a few more test this week. I all ready have date. I am currently in pain at work. I really need to go home.
@ Beckyonthebeach it is normal to be able to drink more after bypass. Your pyloric valve is no longer in tact. Therefore the fluid is able to pass right through your pouch.

Sorry I hit send. Does anyone have any idea if dumping is worse with revision. ?
I had sleeve to bypass April 4. No dumping but I’ve watched my sugar and fat intake. I’m sure it’ll happen eventually once I move to solids next week. Just try and avoid processed sugar, period. And other sugar intake like fruit. I got a little out of it and almost sweaty when I had a low sugar yogurt too quickly. Passed in a couple minutes with no additional symptoms.

Hello everyone. I am going to see if my insurance will approve me for a revision to bypass . I currently have the sleeve. I have gerd, gastritis, and a small hiatal hernia. Did anyone who has meritain health insurance get approved for a revision?
I hope so. I have the very same things. However, I spent the last 3 or so months proving it. Have you taking meds and taken any test that prove you current issues?
