    Conversion to bypass

Hey, I lost 87 lbs with my sleeve surgery so I didn't think it was a mistake. Actually had np with surgery or after initial surgery. Only problem I have had is my reflux is so much worse than it was before. My gastrointestinal doctor and my surgeon have agreed that I should of had the RNY to begin with. I am scheduled for surgery tomorrow morning at 8 am. Hopefully it will be successful and I can stop being miserable due to the reflux. Everyone is different so don't worry about what has happened to others. You do what your doctor's and nutritionist says and walk a lot. Then put exercise routine of some kind every day. YOUR GOING TO DO GREAT. Looking at negative results will not help your journey. Allie in SC Sent from my SM-G960U using BariatricPal mobile app

I had my Gastric Bypass reversed 😞

Alex, Omg seems like you have been to hell and back!! So sorry you have had so many problems. Why on earth would they leave the open incision? Did they think they were going to have to go back to Operating room?? Have you had complications from this surgery? I am having RNY revision surgery on July 16th from my sleeve surgery 0ct 25th 2016.I have to have it because my GERD has gotten so much worse than it was before the sleeve surgery. I didn't know you could have the bypass reversed. Good luck with your new journey and you don't look like you need help with weight loss anymore. Allie in SC

I'm 60. Anyone else over 50 doing RNY?

I am not sure what is difference between kgs and pounds. But I see a lot of people who are on liquids for a few weeks. Not sure how long the normal liquid diet is after your surgery. But glad you are doing well. Allie

I'm 60. Anyone else over 50 doing RNY?

Hey, I am so glad to see someone who has been through it and did great through the same surgery I soon hope to be going through. I am waiting for approval from the insurance companies to get the surgery done. My reflux is so much worse than when I got the sleeve surgery 0ct of 2016. I am not pleased seeing the Dr.say because of age and it being a revision surgery we will lose weight slowly. I am almost 64 .So I have to get in gear and get some of this weight off before surgery. But congratulations on your success. Allie
  20. Hey , I had severe reflux before my sleeve in October 2016.After surgery only 6 weeks of relief from the reflux and then it was way worse than before to the point of taking 10 pills a day instead of 2. I am currently waiting for approval from my insurance companies for the RNY revision surgery and was just diagnosed with barrett's esophagus due to the reflux getting soooooo much worse. I can't wait to get the surgery done and praying for approval. Congratulations on your journey and your surgery appointment. Keep updating us on your progress. Oh i did lose 87 lbs the first year but gained 22 back. Still fighting to get the extra back off. Allie in SC

    May 30th surgery!!

Hey momof2, I had sleeve done 2 1/2 years ago I was worried about coming out of recovery in excruciating pain but I wasn't. It was incredibly easy for me and I was walking around the halls within 2 hrs.No major issues at all. I could of stayed 3 days because I have 2 insurance companies but i went home by 2pm the next day. No problem getting up and down from my bed. You'll do fine. Good luck with your journey and i will look forward to your updates. Allie in SC Sent from my SM-G960U using BariatricPal mobile app

Ok so my EGD results are positive for not only Reflux which I have had since 1987 but new diagnosis is I now have Barrett's esophagus due to the reflux being so bad. Prayers for insurance companies approval for RNY. Sent from my SM-G960U using BariatricPal mobile app
  24. Yeah I haven't been able to exercise at all since my surgery due to other health issues. So exercise is a great way to tone up the skin. Sent from my SM-G960U using BariatricPal mobile app
  25. Hey you're not alone at all. Also not your fault. My gastrointestinal doctor should of been consulted before my surgeon decided sleeve was best for me. Right after I had the sleeve surgery my gastrointestinal doctor said I should of had the RNY. I have gone from 40 mg twice a day of Zegrid with Bicarb to now I take that plus zantac 300 mg twice a day, Carafate 4 xs a day and zofran for nausea. Just diagnosed with barrett's esophagus due to the GERD being so bad. I constantly feel sick because of my Reflux. I am sick of feeling like crap too. Good luck with your new doctor.
