  1. So glad you are okay girl.. I had a hernia repair when I had my sleeve surgery too and it will have to be done again too.?? Did they say why your lung would collapse or did you have problems with the sleeve surgery as well?? Speedy recovery. Allie
  2. If you are use to alot of caffeinated drinks headache can be from that but seems like it would set in quickly.
  3. Hey hope you are doing great since surgery. Good luck with your journey
  4. Bob I hope your surgery went great. Allie in SC
  5. Hey you guys, I am absolutely miserable with my reflux getting soooooo much worse than it was before sleeve surgery and apparentlyhappens a lot with the sleeve. I was told that it would totally get rid of the reflux. That only lasted 6 wks and when food actually got added back to my diet it has gotten so bad. I am in process of getting approved for the RNY revision from my 2 insurance companies due to the fact that it's gotten so bad that I have just been diagnosed with Barrett's esophagus due to the reflux. Good luck with your surgery's. I'm more concerned about this surgery than the first one but it has got to be done. Allie in SC
  6. Ok so my EGD results are positive for not only Reflux which I have had since 1987 but new diagnosis is I now have Barrett's esophagus due to the reflux being so bad. Prayers for insurance companies approval for RNY.
  7. Yeah I haven't been able to exercise at all since my surgery due to other health issues. So exercise is a great way to tone up the skin.
  8. Hey you're not alone at all. Also not your fault. My gastrointestinal doctor should of been consulted before my surgeon decided sleeve was best for me. Right after I had the sleeve surgery my gastrointestinal doctor said I should of had the RNY. I have gone from 40 mg twice a day of Zegrid with Bicarb to now I take that plus zantac 300 mg twice a day, Carafate 4 xs a day and zofran for nausea. Just diagnosed with barrett's esophagus due to the GERD being so bad. I constantly feel sick because of my Reflux. I am sick of feeling like crap too. Good luck with your new doctor. Allie in SC
  9. I'm in process of getting approved for the RNY revision after sleeve surgery because of my reflux getting worse since surgery. I am absolutely miserable and hoping to get approval and surgery quickly. I live in SC where do you guys live??
  10. Go by what the diet for your stages are in the binder you should of gotten before surgery. Better safe than sorry.
  11. Look at revision surgery from lapband. There maybe a forum for it. Good luck
  12. Frust8, Your doing an amazing job and your so supportive of everyone on this forum. My favorite part so is going from a 22w-24w to a 12/14 ladies jeans and not struggle to get in them. Going from a 2x to a L in blouses and all the compliments from my family. It's hard for me to see the difference although 87lbs is about half of what I want to lose. But I will accomplish this, I can do this and one day I am going to look in the mirror and say I got this!!! Allie in SC
  13. Melody is the duodenal switch the same as the RNY?? I'm waiting for approval from my insurance companies for the RNY revision after the sleeve 2 1/2'years ago.My acid reflux disease has gotten so much worse than it was before the sleeve surgery. How many days of all liquids are you having to do?? Hope you are doing great. Allie in SC
  14. Definitely talk to the nutritionist because it's overwhelming when you first start. But definitely do it by the stages in the binder that they should of given you before surgery. Good luck with your journey and remember that you have a lot of support here and we're more than happy to help. We're all going through virtually the same thing give or take. Keep your chin up and on your goal. Allie in SC
  15. Kanoodlebug, I don't think I would wait go to ER or urgent care. They may be able to at least do xrays to make sure that you have no blockages and put you in contact with a great Bariatric specialist.
  16. Your probably vitamin deficient some where. You may need to see a dermatologist or get a Vitamin profile done.
  17. I always had thin as in paper thin nails. I started Biotin before my surgery never realized how much it would help with my nails. They just got super hard and long. I never lost my hair at all. I was sleeved October 2016. Recently all my nails started breaking bad and all the way to the quick. Very painful and ugly. I just realized that I have not been taking my normal amount of biotin.i was taking 10,000 mg 2xs a and the last bottle I bought was only 5,000 and I forget to take them. I truly believe that is my issue.
  18. Hopefully you are doing well from the surgery. Good luck with your journey
  19. I'd contact the surgeon, better safe than sorry. Good luck Marine
  20. Mikell, First congratulations on your weight loss. I have lost 87 from sleeve and hoping for approval for the RNY revision asap because my reflux is killing me. Anyway my arms are like BAT wings flapping in the air. I absolutely hate it and my biggest fear was excessive skin just hanging off me. Actually some pretty bad nightmares about the extra skin just lagging behind my body as I vwalk. Thank God I haven't and hopefully don't get to that point. Lol Anyway yeah I feel ya!! Still another 90 lbs i have to loose so if you find any answers please share them. Allie in SC
  21. Ramp up your exercise routine if possible or change it to something different. Like if you normally just walk do some workout videos, get out and garden, mow your grass just to change it up some. Sounds like your body is in a routine and it is happy with it. Just some thoughts!! Good luck
  22. I have no problem with hair loss but started taking biotin supplements before my surgery and I take 10,000 2xs a day and my nails are hard as a rock(used to be paper thin)..Definitely great for your nails.
  23. Oh yeah I am now off meds for diabetes, hbp, cholesterol and no longer have sleep apnea problems. So it did make a big difference.
