Bariatric surgery was a big mistake
I was told that insurance companies won't approve anyone who isn't 100 lbs overweight for weight loss surgery. Weight loss seminar for Riverside surgical in Lexington, SC

Bariatric surgery was a big mistake
You're really in a bad place and I am absolutely sure you had to go through the psychiatric exam and process before being given the green light for your surgery. The classes before surgery are always informative so I think what they said just didn't stick with you. I had the sleeve surgery 3 years ago and do to reflux disease getting worse I am having RNY revision surgery on July 16th. I don't expect it to be a walk in the park and I know exactly what to expect. Maybe I look at it differently but I never really ran my day to day life on the food in my life. I think that you might greatly benefit from seeking help with your mindset. I am sure that it's affecting your whole family and your quality of life. Instead of being miserable all the time find an outlet other than food to think about. Good luck to you

Realizing just how fat I was...and still am
I have learned the best response to the compliments that I don't think I deserve yet is to just say Thank you...

Realizing just how fat I was...and still am
Omg you're such an inspiration..All of us know we are overweight I have a problem with the word fat.lol But until like you we actually look at the size we were it's hard to really take it in. You have lost a whole person and your doing great things for your health. Those are absolutely amazing milestones. You look awesome and should be proud of yourself!! I don't know what your goal weight is but I would bet that you are at least at the halfway point. Keep your eyes on the goal and keep your chin up!! I am having the RNY REVISION SURGERY on July 16th. I had sleeve surgery will be 3 years ago October 25th. I lost 87 lbs and have arm skin enough for wings but I have severe GERD and it has gotten worse since the sleeve. I still want to lose at least 85 more lbs. Terrified of the hanging skin. But thankfully there's surgery for skin removal after losing all the weight. With any luck my insurance companies will pay for at least part of it. Anyway I wish you the best of luck with your journey. Allie in SC

Help
Laura, I am waiting for approval from my insurance companies for the RNY revision surgery from the sleeve surgery 2 1/2 years ago. I never thought once I was told that all my medical problems would be solved with the sleeve surgery to consult any of my regular Drs.I thought that these surgeon's do this everyday so they know what is the best way to go. So I just went with the surgeon's suggestion that the sleeve was best for me. I had severe reflux disease, type 2 diabetes, HBP,High cholesterol, asthma and arthritis. My diabetes is gone, HBP,High cholesterol are gone. Reflux was gone for 6wks and now is worse than ever since the surgery. I lost 87 lbs and went from size 22w to 24 w to a 12 ladies. My suggestion is if you have medical issues consult each of the Drs.then weigh your options. Good luck

Med28, Maybe your boss is hearing comments about your success and is just trying to nip a problem that could occur in the bud before it happens.

Ya , it’s me
Wow, seriously sounds like some insecure ppl around you guy's. So sorry for the way that you are being treated. It's very sad but maybe your journey is intimidating them. Just try to move on and just be yourself. Good luck

Revision to RNY
Thanks and congratulations on your revision. I can't wait for the RNY revision surgery approval from my insurance companies.

Revision to RNY
I had Severe GERD before my sleeve and a hernia repair when my sleeve was done.. Within 2 months my hernia came back and my GERD has gotten far worse than I ever imagined. I am absolutely miserable and I'm taking 10 pills a day and zofran and GI COCKTAIL every day as opposed to 2 pills and occasionally zofran b4 sleeve. I'm waiting for approval from my insurance companies to get approval for the RNY revision surgery. I'm doing it for the GERD and tons of people are also having the revision surgery for the same reason.

I CANNOT Pee!
