I can't seem to get an answer about converting from the Sleeve to the RYN. I am needing it done do to GERD I also have a hiatal hernia. I am curious to know what the weight loss is like with a revision. I have already lost about 160 lbs but would like to lose 60 more. I need to lose 80 to be a healthy BMI

I had a revision from sleeve to bypass in March. I do not have any more heartburn—that’s completely resolved. I have had a much harder time eating this time around and still do not have solid stool. A

I hear the weight loss is slower, but I have not had a revision. There are tons of posts on here asking about revision. Have a look around and you'll probably find your answers. Good luck.

Chances are that the Gerd would not resolve and being a single parent I don't have the luxury for being down for too long

Also there has been a study that shows without the revision the hernia will return in 2-3 years

I've seem lots of people on here that convert from sleeve to rny. Maybe do a search.

Good luck!

I had band to RNY only 7 weeks post op but GERD actually is worse. You have to take omeorezole daily but I had to add Retanidine to my daily. My friend did sleeve to RNY still has GERD unfortunately she is 7months po. Good luck for you.

I’m 7 days post op. My revision from sleeve to bypass was March 23rd. I had really bad GERD even with liquids. I’m on clear liquids right now and I’ve had tea which usually causes an issue, but so far so good. I don’t feel that burning in my throat are feel like gagging anymore. So I’m glad I did it. RNY all the way!?

What was your PH level? I am happy you feel better. I pray that it will work for me too!

I really don’t know what my PH level was. I go see the doc Monday so I’ll find out then. I really hope this continues so I don’t have to take Protonix anymore.

Okay, what happened to the 95% who have relief from GERD? Did anyone else feel better after revision?

Dont get me wrong I LOVE my RNY but as far as GERD its not burning cause the acid doesnt come all way up but I do still have reflux.

My revision is a week from Monday. Do you expect to lose more weight
According to my research and surgical team the answer is "yes." I need to lose around 64 pounds. Time will tell [emoji4]
