Hey Girl, Wishing you a safe and easy surgery!!

Had my band fitted today!just got to stay in tonight and I’m free tomox morning hope everyone that had there opps today are healing up and isn’t in to much discomfort

Hey everyone!!!!

Can we get some updates from those who have had surgery? Let's provide some encouragement and realistic expectations for our 3rd and 4th week April Surgery Pals :-)

I just got my sleeve Mon, Apr 15 and came home yesterday. Things have gone really well! I’m working on my fluid intake with my tracker sheet. My pain has been minimal, as has been my nausea. I’m mostly just tired, which is totally expected. I got my laps in at the hospital with no problems, and am making sure I get up at least once an hour during awake hours to keep blood circulating. My biggest struggle has been doing the spirometer as often as I should have in the hospital and I can tell.

Congrats on a successful procedure!!! Get on the spirometer :-). Perhaps you can set a timer.

Good morning beautiful people!!

I had my surgery 11 April Lap Band

Before: 3 weeks of liquids for preop and lots of anxiety!

Disclaimer, what is for my body may not be for your body...

Before surgery, I talk to so many professionals; anesthesiologists, doctor, family, nurses I didn't remember much! Lol... So just I prayed

After: the surgery was a success! I stayed overnight. The good: it was the best idea to stay overnight, the nurses help with the medicine Doses and getting used to walking breathing through and using the restroom. (Little things)

The bad & ugly: The anesthesia side effects-the gas is so uncomfortable (dont force it to pass, it hurts more). Incision pain only when things are on placed on them like pants or when its accidentally bumped.

Ladies, because of the locations of the incisions think about sports bras. I wear wire bras most of the time and they were on my incisions-painful... Here I am, 1 week post op and am finally able to wear a real bra.

Tips:

Take your time, LOVE yourself-speak your success in existence!

Stay hydrated!!

Walk!

Have a plan, for phase1, 2, 3 and beyond.

If you have any specific questions please let me know!

Blessings and you will succeed!!

Hi all! So glad to see that everyone who has gone seems to be on track for a great recovery. I was on a self imposed social media fast--I do this from time to time.

I am doing well, my surgery was last Thursday (4/11), and my follow up with the surgeon is tomorrow. I was able to hit my protein/fluid goals consistently since day 4. Days 2 and 3 were close but not quite there. Also not needing to sleep/nap, which was an issue for the first few days, but, it's a surgery, so...

I've been walking on my treadmill, not fast, but consistent. Up to 30 minutes straight.

I drove for the first time yesterday, and that went well.

I met my partner in town last night, he was having a drink after work, and ordered a salad to go. I had some hot mint tea, and water. It was good to be out and about amongst people.

Good luck to everyone who's recovering and whose surgeries are coming up soon!

Our experiences are quite similar - minus the anxiety and lap band (I had the sleeve). Well, my brain said I wasn't anxious, but my pre-op blood pressure said otherwise. I chose to wear Lany Bryant's lounge bra during my first week and it really helped.

Glad all is coming along well for you!

Congrats on hitting movement goals and the restraint to have mint tea and water while out and about! I need to improve with walking, which is one area from which I suffered prior to surgery.

Good luck!

It has been one week since my gastric bypass.
I had a rough start due to some leftover scar tissue from previous surgeries. Because of bleeding, I ended up in the hospital for four nights instead of the expected one.
Since being released, though, things are going really well. I’m not having any difficulty drinking the required amount of liquid. I have been drinking water, Crystal Light, V8, Gatorade Zero, and my protein shakes.
I have been driving for a few days with no problems. I feel pretty normal except for being pretty tired. I have had almost zero pain (from day one) from my surgical sites.
I am sending good vibes to those of you waiting for your April surgery.
Good morning. I had a gastric bypass revision on April 3. I am doing well except for being sooo tired. I move onto soft foods today. Pretty excited about that! I spent two nights in hospital because the hole in my original pouch (done in 2004) was 3”, much larger than expected. Also had a lot of scar tissue. The nausea after surgery was horrendous the first day but not too bad after. Pain has been minimal.

I I hope everyone here has a surgeon as amazing as mine. And a wonderful post-op experience in the hospital. Hang in there! It gets better every day.
