I brought and used: hair brush, hair ties, deodorant, lip balm, and Listerine strips, my iPhone & charger, a face cloth and some face wash stuff, and for the ride home, underwear, shoes, really baggy sweatpants, sweatshirt. SUPERGLAM!

I brought and didn't use: another change of clothes. I wore my hospital no-slip socks and nightie the whole time I was there.

p.s. Good luck!

I didn’t take anything other than my phone and charger, slippers and some comfy loose fitting clothes for the ride home. I was lucky enough to only stay one night and go home by afternoon the next day

Toiletries! The first time I ever went to hospital, I assumed they would provide toiletries like a hotel does (don’t know why I thought this lol). Luckily there was a pharmacy on site so I was able to pick up supplies. The only toiletries my hospital supplied was hand wash.

The only things I ended up using were lip balm, hand lotion, toothbrush and toothpaste. I had packed pajamas, but never changed into them and they wouldn't have worked anyway because of the heart monitor they stick on you.

do not take much. Everything i took stayed in the bag until I left. You will be tired and only want to sleep. I actually used my pajamas and my cell charger. That was it.. they give you socks for your feet so you dont fall.. and any meds you need, they will have for you.

I took a bunch of stuff and ended up not needing most of it. I wore a very loose dress to the hospital and wore it home (I mean, I was in it for all of an hour the day of surgery). Because of the heart monitor, I couldn't have worn PJs if I had wanted to. I used my iPhone/iPad, chargers, lip balm, and hand lotion. I had my hair up in a pony tail and didn't brush it (to be fair, I have curly hair, so I never brush it). I also took a pillow to put between me and the seatbelt for the ride home, but my hospital gave me a pillow for that, too - not sure if all do.

Cant stress enough.. lip gloss or balm . My lips got so cracked and dyed out because of the breathing tube. Also the exceptionally dry air in the hospital.

Of all the things I brought I used: toothbrush and toothpaste, hair brush, hair tie, chapstick and lotion. I wore the same thing home that I wore to the hospital, I walked around in the socks they gave me and the gown was large enough so I didn't feel like I needed a robe. I didn't even end up using my phone charger because I was sleeping most of the time and didn't feel like being on my phone!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
