I can't believe I'm already a month out from my VSG. I saw my surgeon yesterday and I'm down 33 lbs all together (23 from surgery day)
I was so discouraged that I wasn't losing fast enough but I was told I was doing beautifully !

Oh and I forgot to add... pretty sure this is why I’m struggling so hard to meet protein goals.
Most days it’s a success if I hit 40gm protein bc I don’t have the “patience” to take what seems like forever to eat

I do the same thing! Since it’s impossible to rush through the eating, I usually give up and set my timer for 30 minutes so I at least can start drinking again

And although I don't , know his reasoning he probably has very good reasons based on the years he or she has been in practice. Mine will not allow his patients to eat pickles, not now, not never.

Wish I only had to wait 30 minutes. My surgeon requires his patients to wait an hour after eating.

You know with the sleeve how you're supposed to wait 30 mins after meals and no eating with. Sometimes it takes me so long to eat so little and I want a drink so bad I just decide the food isn't worth it so I can start timing for a drink [emoji28] [emoji28] [emoji16]

I finally feel back to myself. I'm off all pain meds and nausea meds. I've been sleeping great ! I'm down 20 lbs (7pre op 13 post op) I have my 1 week FU tomorrow and I'm hoping since I've had a great fluid intake I'll be moved to purees. ?????? I have 6 little scars and they all seem to be healing nicely so far [emoji4][emoji4]

That was a rough time. The surgery went text book according to the surgeon but I woke up with the worst nausea. I was vomiting (air) for about 6 hours post op. They gave me several types of meds to help but told me the more I rest the better I'll feel. They kept me on medication for nausea and pain until about 10-11 the next day. Then I was able to get up and walk around. Did laps and then would fall back asleep. I'm so much better feeling today. Anyone who tries to say this is the "easy" way has lost their minds. [emoji36] definitely harder than I expected.

Of all the things I brought I used: toothbrush and toothpaste, hair brush, hair tie, chapstick and lotion. I wore the same thing home that I wore to the hospital, I walked around in the socks they gave me and the gown was large enough so I didn't feel like I needed a robe. I didn't even end up using my phone charger because I was sleeping most of the time and didn't feel like being on my phone!

Cant stress enough.. lip gloss or balm . My lips got so cracked and dyed out because of the breathing tube. Also the exceptionally dry air in the hospital.
