I Believe It Was Worth It

Question. I had the sleeve on Monday. I have been hungry every second since. I have been 100% faithful in staying on liquids only and will not do anything other than follow what I have been instructed as far are diet. Tonight for example I ate 16 ounces of chicken broth in 15 minutes and only stopped because I feel like I should. Not because I was full, satisfied or had any irritation, stopped only because I felt that based off everything I’ve been told that was too much. Anyone out ther have a similar experience or advice? I thought 4 ounces was supposed to be normal. I’m freaking out that there will be no difference in appetite or ability to eat too much.

I don't have a single regret about being sleeved (even though I had to borrow money to pay for it!)

Its worked. I feel better. And I think I deserve success.

I knew this was the correct decision for me from beginning and have not experienced a single regret. Yes, there has been some tough times but nothing unbearable or unexpected. Sadly, I think a lot of people "jump into" having bariatric surgery without doing a lot of research and therefore they have a lot misconceptions about what to expect.

Absolutely, positively no regrets. This has been one of the best decisions I have ever made for myself. Sure I had some nerves about how I'd handle the holiday season, but everything went just fine. I also have a little angst about the possibility of losing my hair. But I'm taking Biotin and L Lysine and moving on. No way do I have a shred of a doubt that I made the right decision.

Yes.

I am a pessimistic optimist. I prepare for the worst, but am delighted when things go well. This is going well. I mulled over every possible downside and researched the prep, surgery and aftermath to the nth degree before I went for it. I wanted to make a good decision, and it was.

I am not losing as fast as some and I’m losing faster than others. I’m not at the gym 5 times a week, but I no longer live on the couch. I don’t avoid many foods, but I no longer eat candy, crisps, fries, Pasta, bread, ice cream and rafts of other things that were so ‘expensive’ and addictive.

I don’t have a personal target of ‘normal’ BMI as I fit every criteria for big boned and I was a US size 8 clothes at 28 pounds over that top ‘normal’ weight and with PCOS and post menopausal fun I’m not putting that pressure on myself, but I stay within 650-800 cals almost without exception and rarely breach 50g carbs.

It’s good, it’s working, I’m making a change, arthritis pain is all but gone already, psoriasis is almost gone too, my shoes are more comfortable, I sweat and get less red and if absolutely nothing else this will be 2+ years of going in a direction other than up from where I was, but (pessimistically optimistically speaking) I’m trying to do one hell of a lot more [emoji846]

My regret is that I didn’t have gastric bypass sooner! I’ve lost 90lbs. My diabetes is gone. I feel so much healthier. I’m a normal BMI!! Yes it was a longer than anticipated recovery but so so worth it!!

2nd / 3rded / 4thed (I lost count [emoji846]). Only regret is not doing this before menopause to be able to take that little bit easier advantage while hormones and collagen were in my corner :-)

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
