December 2018 Sleevers!

  • Popular Post

Hello everyone!

I was approved a few days ago (after only waiting a week) and received my surgery date for December 12, 2018! I chose this date out of the few offered to me because I am currently in college and I will be able to finish up my classes prior to the surgery (which was a huge worry of mine.) It's about two weeks before my birthday too!

Anyone else scheduled out in December?

  • I had my surgery exactly a year before you 12/12/17. Hopefully it's a lucky date. Almost a year out looking back it was an amazing life changing decision. I was just over 300 lbs to start and by June

  • So man. What a day! Surgery went text book according to surgeon. I was on the table for 55min. He told me it was obvious that I had rocked the preop diet, as he could have likely done the surgery with

I just had my surgery yesterday!!! Finally I got this thing done. I’m having a lot of gas pain though. And I’m having a hard time getting in these liquids. Day 2 at the hospital .??❤️

Hope you feel better soon. Do they have you walking around a lot?

Well I'm sleeved! Procedure didn't take long at all. You may have some pain from the gas afterwards like I am, and it can sometimes cause nausea. However other than that I'm up and walking about and I started my clear liquids today.

Awesome! Hope you have a speedy recovery!

Why are you crushing your meds? I went straight to pill form on post-op day 2. Did your surgeon tell you to? (mine said I could take pills just fine)

The dietician and doctor said all of my meds need to be crushed for the first month after surgery otherwise they wouldn’t break down properly.

Hello all

I am new here and this is my first post. I am on a countdown for a 12/18/18 surgery date.

Super excited. Wish we luck!

I’m almost one week post op and every day i feel more like myself! I’m def dealing with head hunger/urge to eat (chew!). But I know that’s mental! Really right now my hardest part is sleep, I am NOT a back sleeper and my back is killing me lately!!! Other then that, I’ve been trying hard to get all my liquids in, it’s hard!!!

Your doing awesome, I totally agree, getting all that liquid in is tough if your not used to drinking all the time. Im still struggling with that aspect two weeks out. I find i often have 32oz left to drink by the end of the day and im sipping water by my bed just to reach the target... first world problems.

Going for my 2 week check up tomorrow. Also weigh in day is tomorrow for myself so im excited about that. Hopefully the scale is still moving.

Me and @Myhorseisfattoo are on the loser's bench!

Right now I'm focusing on getting as much water down as I can. I'm just drinking regular water right now because my brain has decided that it sounds "good." I'm burping a little, farting a little (though I do feel like I could go - but any movement baring down is really sore.)

I'm a little scared of drinking too much and hurting my stomach. I also got medication for stomach spasms, but I haven't really experienced that yet? I just am a little overwhelmed by everything.

Hm, my doctor said that as long as the pill is small enough - they want me swallowing the pills whole. But you need to go by your doctor's orders!

Just had mine 12/11/18, 3 days ago, and spent two nights in hospital, got home yesterday. Today I'm feeling pretty good compared to the post-op day #1 with so much nausea. I'm having no trouble getting in my liquids and protein drinks, walking around, and using my spirometer. Looking forward to start seeing the numbers on the scale move downward

Best of luck. What determines the 2nd night in the hospital?
