December 2018 Sleevers!

  • Popular Post

Hello everyone!

I was approved a few days ago (after only waiting a week) and received my surgery date for December 12, 2018! I chose this date out of the few offered to me because I am currently in college and I will be able to finish up my classes prior to the surgery (which was a huge worry of mine.) It's about two weeks before my birthday too!

Anyone else scheduled out in December?

  • I had my surgery exactly a year before you 12/12/17. Hopefully it's a lucky date. Almost a year out looking back it was an amazing life changing decision. I was just over 300 lbs to start and by June

  • So man. What a day! Surgery went text book according to surgeon. I was on the table for 55min. He told me it was obvious that I had rocked the preop diet, as he could have likely done the surgery with

Hi so they ended 8 times to get an IV were even considering putting in my neck [emoji853] my surgery got pushed back because of it. Got 2 more for blood draws 10 total. My veins r tiny deep and roll they said the dehydration make it worse. On the bright no nausea lots of pain wish I had ice chips not allowed til swallow test tomorrow ugh. Can’t wait. Been trying to walk
8? Ouch [emoji174]
So I’ve moved on to smooth consistency food today. It’s amazing how quickly I fill up. The best thing I ate today was 1/4 cup of mashed potato with a scoop of genepro protein (30 grams) and a tablespoon of salsa.

I know every program is different but my dr warned me NOT to use GENEPRO, as he believed it doesn’t contain the protein it says and can lead to serious problems. Just an FYI.
Oh wow thx for the tip

I'm nervous too. What part scares you the most? The surgery or the little stomach? I'm worried about all of it.

I was most worried about getting sick after surgery, but was really scared in general

My surgery was yesterday lots of gas pain but have Not gotten sick at all. They started me on zofran before they did the test

Had my surgery late Monday afternoon. They let me come home 24 hours later. Today, my first full day has been a little rough. Pain is not too bad, but have had too work at getting fluids in because makes me a tad sick. Just keep plugging away sipping and walking around the house and doing breathing treatment thingy:). I haven't had to take pain meds so far today, but have taken the nausea meds. Dr. said to just try to keep sipping, but not to the point I throw up. It is, after all, only day 1. Keeping things positive!

Wishing you a speedy recovery.
I had my sleeve yesterday and everything went smoothly. My biggest complaint is the gas, it is no joke.
Yea they gave me bental shots for the gas pain it’s was awful!!!

I've had multiple abdominal surgeries for endometriosis and had little gas. Wonder how this surgery will be? I'm expecting it to be a breeze because the other ones I've had were horribly painful!

Surgery date 12/27.

Start pre-op diet tomorrow. Any tips for pre op? Thanks

Get yourself some protein water, I like the strawberry one the best from vieive. They will be a godsend post op and getting used to them pre op is key.

Beware day three/four everyone has a rough day around then but it passes I reckon its the sugar/carb crash. Maybe hide from friends and family that day.

Focus on getting in the water and protein each day and set a new goal each day like maybe on day one.focus on getting the water in and then.day two.focus on hitting your protein goals and so on..

Hope that helps
