    December 2018 Sleevers!

So woke up this morning and the weight seemed to melt away this week and for the first time in well over a decade i'm no longer OBESE wohooo BMI today 29.9 so to say im ecstatic doesn't even describe it well enough. At this rate should reach by goal weight by summer assuming weight loss continues. Planning to start gymming end of march so far haven't done much apart form watch my diet and keep my step count up high.

    December 2018 Sleevers!

Hey Everyone, Looks like were all doing great so far anyways. I just got told by the surgical team ive reached 58% loss of excess weight which has me totally psyched as im only 8 weeks down Nearly out of the obese category for BMI and ive dropped 6 pant sizes. This really has been best decision ive ever made so happy Have a ways to go still but losing consistently every week so that keeps me motivated. Still struggling to find the right portion size no matter how small i go i feel like im always one mouthful over haha, One of these days ill make a plate of food that is just right

The vinegar can actually make that sore throat worse would advise against it for now and try reducing fat content from your food although by the sound of your meals its fairly low as it is... The bad taste u describe does sound very much like reflux and a sore throat would go hand in hand with it. Are you taking a proton pump inhibitor like lansoprazole?

    December 2018 Sleevers!

The coldness is definitely extreme I also was always warm and now im literally walking around in pjs and a duvet as much as possible. Kind of delighted about it though I keep forgetting to eat these days I get like a craving for food once a day and after a few bites its gone eating is becoming a chore, this is the strangest feeling ever. Its great cause I find i don't want crap anymore. Proving tough to get my protein in though as I just don't wanna eat anymore. Will need to find a happy medium. Todays end of week 5 from surgery well and truly back on normal diet now. Trying out new recipes all the time everything is focused around protein carbs and fats are an afterthought. How is everyone else doing?

    December 2018 Sleevers!

Happy New Years everyone, been having a tough 2 week period have been stuck in my first stall for the last while. But today finally scales started to move again. Dropped two pants sizes though now i'm a 38" waist. Reaching my goal ever so slowly. As many of you have also said I wish this would go faster. Had a tough time with Christmas at home and all the food around have been keeping this private so pretty much everyone thought I was being a weirdo and not eating my food. I guess this is the hard aspect when you can't eat the same as you did before but its my journey and I will achieve my goal that I set out to reach just like everyone else on this forum. Heres to 2019 and a year of reaching our goals. Happy New Years to us all

    December 2018 Sleevers!

So went to my work christmas party and had formulated a plan with my Nut beforehand because its a dinner and drinks kinda thing and the plan was go for the soup as the starter and go for the fish as the main. Worked a treat until dessert came round and i picked the sorbet thinking it was probably the best option, bearing in mind i barely ate any of the main and only half the soup and was stuffed at this stage. Almost like clockwork though after a few bits of the sorbet the belly started to rumble angrily and had to visit the loo... Long story short I can't eat sweet things anymore... Kind delighted with this though as it reassures me that my body rejects too much sugar now and hopefully this will help me steer clear of it in the future. Next time I'll just say i'm full Anyone else have any embarrassing food moments?

    1 Week Post Op...

I feel like that most mornings but i try do a 500ml (16oz) fluid bolus as soon as i wake up and after about an hour i feel fine. Anytime i feel woozy or nauseous ive found its almost always because i was down on fluids or my body needed a bit more. Try it out and see it it helps you. If not then reassess check your diet make sure your getting in all your nutrients and protein and when you feel up to it definitely exercise will speed up the recovery phase. Im three weeks out myself and thats what ive found helps me. Hope it helps you

Does the chewable multivitamins count Few days more and you’ll be chewing again. I can honestly say I never want to see broth again.... That pre-op diet was hell, mainly due to the sugar and carb withdrawal feel so much better now. I’m just getting to chew again so I’m enjoying every second of it. My programs slightly diff from most I do the two week pre-op liquids then two weeks post op liquids then we go straight into soft food no need for purée then after four weeks back to normal diet as tolerated. I’m just over two weeks post op and trying my best to enjoy every minute of chewing

Non scale victory like wearing an outfit that didnt fit you before or sitting on a plane comfortably just something you couldnt do before that you can now that isnt weighing scale related. Well try some other puree type foods like the rocotta bake its delish. And of the right texture I think.

    December 2018 Sleevers!

Careful with those, I had a bad experience 🤢🤢. As a treat for myself I’ve gone to the canarie islands to soak up some winter sun After a rough two weeks this is giving me the boost I need. Highly recommend do something nice for yourself when you hit the two week mark. Food wise I’m managing about six to seven mouthfuls of food. Trying to eat about 5 times a day that’s what my team suggest. Protein always comes first then usually veg. Looking forward to some nsv’s

    Feeling faint(light headed) sometimes...

I definitely am.having.this and.its definitely related to not getting enough fluids in during the day. If it happens I find if I drink 16oz of fluid it goes away. Fluid needs change day to day depending on heat, if your sweating, if you've excercised or not so I find there is no simple rule to knowing how much fluid your body needs. More seems to be always the answer.

    November 2018 Sleevers!?!?

I was sleeved on the 30th Nov and I’m also finding food tedious. I have loads of head hunger but when I go to eat something my restriction kicks in after a few bites and then I get turned off the food. I keep making my portions smaller because I hate throwing away food but as soon as the restriction kicks in that’s my appetite zapped. In terms of what I’m eating I love the ricotta bake gonna add some ground beef to it next time to boost the protein content, retried beans with some cheese and guacamole is delicious. I find eggs tough threw it all up after having it the other morning so I’m turned off them for now. I find i can can tolerate most foods that are saucy or sloppy so long as I chew them properly. I can’t purée food because that turns my stomach so I opt for chewing extra well and avoiding anything dry.

    December 2018 Sleevers!

So week two post op and I’ve met with the doc and I’m finally cleared for soft food woooo. In addition got the boost of having lost approx 17kilos (36 pounds) in a month. Dropped a pants size and top size too which made me smile. Can’t believe how fast the weight is coming down, which makes me kinda nervous cause I’m expecting a stall this week. Seems like most people stall on week three. I hope everyone else is recovering well so far and got my fingers crossed for everyone yet to go.

    Macro targets

Hey, just wondering does anyone have any advice on what your macro targets should be post op. Im trying to work out whats a good goal to set with macros. Im aiming for high protein and high fat with low carbs but wondering does anyone have percentages that they try to hit?

    December 2018 Sleevers!

Your doing awesome, I totally agree, getting all that liquid in is tough if your not used to drinking all the time. Im still struggling with that aspect two weeks out. I find i often have 32oz left to drink by the end of the day and im sipping water by my bed just to reach the target... first world problems. Going for my 2 week check up tomorrow. Also weigh in day is tomorrow for myself so im excited about that. Hopefully the scale is still moving.

    Macro targets

Yah 2 cups of veggies seems a bit high but if I count all the soup im drinking maybe im not too far off Thanks for the table though its a start

    Macro targets

Yup same thing im getting too, its hard to know what foods to eat if you don't know how to split the macros, i can easily find foods that will build up to the protein goal but I want to know what way to split the carbs and fats. Cause in essence all food is made up of the three and knowing which way to split things helps in forming a well balanced diet. Im meeting my surgical team tomorrow for a check up so will ask them and see if I can get some advice. Thanks for your input.

    Macro targets

Oh no I understand, im eating relatively high fat is what I mean for example my total daily caloric intake is around 800cal atm but im getting around 70-80g protein and im just wondering if anyone has percentages of how they split their carbs and fats thereafter. My first goal is to.acheive the protein target and goal 2 is to stick to my calorie target I just want to know how to split my carbs and fats. Im using myfitnesspal and.it asks you for your targets thats why im curious to hear what other people set.

    December 2018 Sleevers!

So guys think I had my first experience of dumping syndrome. Was trying some.scrambled eggs and I made them.with milk and a drop of ketchup on the side. Not.sure whicj agent was the.culprit I suspect it was the ketchup tho but I just speant an hour feeling awful after it. Shivering vomitting and woozy. Its all settled now but I can say hands up I will not be having any of those ingredients again for a while. Anyone else experienced anything like that? Feeling a little glum about the limitations of my diet atm. Focusing on my positives though to keep me strong.

    December 2018 Sleevers!

Get yourself some protein water, I like the strawberry one the best from vieive. They will be a godsend post op and getting used to them pre op is key. Beware day three/four everyone has a rough day around then but it passes I reckon its the sugar/carb crash. Maybe hide from friends and family that day. Focus on getting in the water and protein each day and set a new goal each day like maybe on day one.focus on getting the water in and then.day two.focus on hitting your protein goals and so on.. Hope that helps
