2 weeks post op
I haven't worn a bathing suit in about 4 years. This suit has been packed away since then. It felt really good to see my progress when I put this suit on.

December 2018 Sleevers!
I know your pain. I am always freezing now. I take a blanket everywhere I go.

December 2018 Sleevers!
How many pills a day is everyone taking? I am a person who went from taking 2-3 pills a day, to 8 pills a day. This has been a weird transition for me. Anyone else weirded out by this?

December 2018 Sleevers!
I am in the pureed stage, but I am still eating to fast and taking to much in at once. I know I am supposed to take 20-30 minutes to eat my 2-3oz, but I take about 10 to 15 minutes. I think it's because I hate cold food. Anyone have any hacks or tips to help me figure out a way to slow down? I tried the baby spoon method, it kind of worked but not really.

To replace crackers try Cello Artisan Whisps They come in Cheddar cheese and Parm cheese as well. they are very low carb and packed with protein.

Full liquid diet. Had tomato soup and feel drunk. Anyone experience this?
I am having a similar issue. I am 2 weeks post op and just started pureed foods. Today I had about 2 oz of refried beans for lunch and could barely keep my eyes open afterwards. It makes me want to go back to the liquids during the day and only eat meals at night.

Well, the holidays have been rough! So many parties, so much good smelling food, and I couldn't eat any of it. I was bad over the holiday, at 12 days post op I ate the inside of a deviled egg (not the boiled white part), and on Christmas, I ate the inside of another deviled egg and a tablespoon of mashed unsweetened sweet potatoes which I could not finish. Even though my diet plan doesn't have me starting pureed foods until Friday. I ate slowly an added saliva when I would put the food in my mouth to thin it out more. I KNOW IT WAS WRONG BUT IT TASTED SO GOOD! and I was very satisfied and didn't feel sick or overly full. I haven't had anything even semi-solid in almost 5 weeks so that was a real joy.

December 2018 Sleevers!
Today is my first day back home following my surgery on December 12th. So far so good but I have a lot of stomach gurgling and still plenty of gas. Also I think my meds are breaking my face ?

December 2018 Sleevers!
Well I'm sleeved! Procedure didn't take long at all. You may have some pain from the gas afterwards like I am, and it can sometimes cause nausea. However other than that I'm up and walking about and I started my clear liquids today.

WOO WHOO! today is surgery day. The count dawn begins.

Protien and Broth!
I am still pre op but I agree that the Premier Protein Clears are gross. I bought a pack, and when I ran out of shakes I tried to drank one...YUCK! I could only get it down by adding about 1/2 pack of crystal light lemonade packet.

PRE OP Weight loss Mind Games
I began my pre-op liquid diet on November 26, 2018. I am scheduled for surgery on 12/12/18. I knew that I would lose weight during the pre-op stage, but I didn't know it would be such a mind screw. The liquid diet can result in rapid weight loss, and when you begin to see the pounds fall off, you may begin to rethink having surgery. (Well at least this thought did cross my mind). You begin to think, "Wow, I have lost, so many pounds already, maybe I don't need to go through with the surgery." "Maybe I can just stick to a diet plan and keep losing the weight." But just as this thought went through my mind, the parallel thought of, "if you could just watch your diet and loss the weight, why haven't you been able to do so and keep up with it?" This truly a mind screw. Don't get me wrong I know weight loss surgery is not a miracle. It's a tool to help you reset your lifestyle for weight loss. I am definitely going to continue my preop, and have my surgery, but I that mind screw was something I hadn't prepared myself for. I asked a few friends that have already had, different forms of bariatric surgery if they felt this way anytime during their preop, and all of them said YES! One of my friends even talked to their surgeon about it, but lucky for them the surgeon knew this was a phase and asked my friend to think it over for a few days before they took any steps to cancel the surgery. Another friend said a lady in per surgery group had cancelled their surgery for this exact same reason and had to start their 6-month supervised program all over again...twice. I even found previous VSG patients on YouTube, who stated they felt this way. Has anyone here felt like this?

Confessional - Lets post our cheats/confessions/etc so others can see that we are all human
I am on my pre-op diet and I have done some cheating. However, mines seem mild in comparison. Over the past 8 days, I have eaten some grapes (about 10), a serving of Snack Factory Pretzel Crisps (I checked the label and gave myself exactly 1 serving) I put half a banana in my protein smoothie. I wasn't sure if this is actually cheating or not because bananas weren't on my list of excluded or included fruits I can use for shakes and smoothies. I ate Taco Bell plain Refried Beans when I was out holiday shopping. Ate about 3 sporks of that. My big fail was Sunday. I made a salad for my husband's dinner. Just a plain old iceberg lettuce salad mix with tomatoes, cucumbers, a small amount of bacon bits, cheese, 1/4 a piece of baked crispy chicken, and (yes I counted) croutons with light vinaigrette dressing. Before I know I was huddled in the corner like Smeagal devouring about a cup of the salad! LOL my husband caught me and tried to take it away, but I would not let go of MY PRECIOUS! LOL

Anyone scheduled for December yet?

Pre-Op Diet Emotions
OMG! I thought that maybe it, but I wasn't sure because the tab was pushed so far down in the box LOL. Well probably trashed those for no reason other than my own paranoia. Thanks for the note, I definitely will keep this in mind going forward.
