December 2018 Sleevers!

  • Popular Post

Hello everyone!

I was approved a few days ago (after only waiting a week) and received my surgery date for December 12, 2018! I chose this date out of the few offered to me because I am currently in college and I will be able to finish up my classes prior to the surgery (which was a huge worry of mine.) It's about two weeks before my birthday too!

Anyone else scheduled out in December?

  • I had my surgery exactly a year before you 12/12/17. Hopefully it's a lucky date. Almost a year out looking back it was an amazing life changing decision. I was just over 300 lbs to start and by June

  • So man. What a day! Surgery went text book according to surgeon. I was on the table for 55min. He told me it was obvious that I had rocked the preop diet, as he could have likely done the surgery with

Today is my first day back home following my surgery on December 12th. So far so good but I have a lot of stomach gurgling and still plenty of gas. Also I think my meds are breaking my face ?

I am post-op day 5 from VSG and still can’t get anywhere close to 64 oz. It takes me about 50 mins to drink 4 ounces. Not sure how in the world I will be able to advance to full liquids in 2days.

I hear you!! I’m on day 6th. Got home the same day you had your surgery, I still have crazy gurgling and gas. I’ve been moving around a lot and that helps. I came of the meds on the 13th as all i wanted to do was sleep. I walked a mile today and gas levels are certainly better with walking. Good luck and speedy recovery.

I am currently laying in a bed in Mexico awaiting surgery tomorrow. Pre-op diet hasn’t been all that fun, but I’m down 58 pounds in six weeks. Looking forward to the future of not being hungry all the time.

The very best of luck, let us know how you get on. We’re all routing for you.

Great work on the pre op diet. They are impressive numbers. Best of luck

Today is my first day home also after my surgery. I had complications . My heart and I’m so weak and short of breath. My pain is under control. Thank God .

sorry to hear this?

What complications did you have.

I've had multiple abdominal surgeries for endometriosis and had little gas. Wonder how this surgery will be? I'm expecting it to be a breeze because the other ones I've had were horribly painful!

I've also had Laperscopic surgeries for endometriosis as well as a hysterectomy and I can say this surgery is a little different a bit more gas and painful
December 18th, and I cannot wait! I had my Lap Band removed on Aug 28th and waiting to heal before sleeve surgery (and hoping I don't gain too much weight while waiting!)
@Jendkopp, I'm curious why you waited to have the sleeve instead of combining the Lapband removal into one surgery? I had both procedures done on 12/11 and I do not envy you having the 2 separate surgeries. [emoji53]
How does anyone else prevent gulping? I get so thirsty then I remember and it’s too late and already hurts. I have no clue how this will work when I start working out.

Not really doing too well. Whether I drink or don't drink I have intermittent chest pain that feels like someone is squeezing me right in the middle of my chest. I talked to my doctor's NP this morning and her suggestion was that I take my Percocets. I've been avoiding them since I wasn't having constant unbearable pain. I feel like my pain is being dismissed and I have a bunch of errands to run before I graduate on Wednesday so I can't even take the Percocet ?. Here's to hoping things get easier

I was having that same thing early on. I took antacids and it went away. Likely gas. Hope ya feel better.
I’m 10 days post op today and I still randomly get the chest pains... sometimes I’ll take a gas x and that helps, but it does get better! One of the worst parts for me was the chest pains. Each day it gets a little better.... after exactly one week and day, I woke up feeling “normal” again!
Still dealing with that darn head hunger and desire to chew. I have 3 kids, so I’m often making them and my husband dinner and it’s hard!!! I don’t feel hungry, but I’m missing food! One more week till purées... never would’ve thought i would be excited about that! ?
