December 2018 Sleevers!

Recommended Posts

Hello everyone!

I was approved a few days ago (after only waiting a week) and received my surgery date for December 12, 2018! I chose this date out of the few offered to me because I am currently in college and I will be able to finish up my classes prior to the surgery (which was a huge worry of mine.) It's about two weeks before my birthday too!

Anyone else scheduled out in December?

I have CIGNA insurance and they required 90 days of nutrition classes. Due to the way the classes were set up, I actually ended up having to do 4 weigh-ins. My surgeon did not require me to lose weight (though it was definitely encouraged) but I could not gain weight during the 90 days.

My surgeon requires 6 weigh-in over 6months and encourage to try getting close to 300lbs as I can by the 6th one. So I figure that will be roughly week after thanksgiving

December 18th, and I cannot wait! I had my Lap Band removed on Aug 28th and waiting to heal before sleeve surgery (and hoping I don't gain too much weight while waiting!)

I have Cigna too but don’t know about any 90 day nutritional class requirement. I’ve been going through pre-op testing but haven’t been completely approved nor do I have a surgery date. I am needing to get it done this year due to possible insurance changes. Hope they don’t spring this on me last minute!

If you had been in a doctor managed diet program for a consecutive period and provided those medical notes, they would waive the nutrition classes for the tome you had been in the program. Had to have been within the last two years.

I had my surgery exactly a year before you 12/12/17. Hopefully it's a lucky date. Almost a year out looking back it was an amazing life changing decision. I was just over 300 lbs to start and by June (6 months) had lost just under 100 lbs and was running miles at a time, biking etc. since then I've been trying to maintain around 200 and struggling a bit to not keep losing (a high class problem). Good luck, great things are to come and in a year you will feel totally different!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
