November 2018 Sleevers!?!?

Recommended Posts

Hi All,

I've been considering and researching obesity and WLS for over a decade. After 15 years of a BMI 40+, numerous diets, and three comorbidities later, I'm taking action.

I'm scheduled for 11/12 and have been on the pre-op diet for 3 days.

I've decided to follow other members who have surgery the week before me so I can keep in touch with others slightly ahead of me, so I can have a view of where I might be as I progress.

Prayers and best wished to all!

Had my final meeting with the surgeon. Surgery scheduled for November 19. Waiting on final approval from insurance. This is getting real, but I'm ready for this next phase in my life.

Y’all... day 3 of this liquid bs, stinks! I really was okay with it until today... sorry- just venting! 🙄

Day 4 for me was the only time I got cranky, it gets better.

My surgery is tomorrow, November 1st. I was on 12 days of Premier Protein shakes and 2 Greek yogurt and all the Clear Liquids I want. I have been on clear liquids only yesterday and today. Feeling nervous, but really glad the day is just about here.

Thinking of you today!

It's starting to feel real now. My surgery is the 6th which is now less than a week away! I am more excited than nervous. I've had plenty of surgeries so I don't have any fear about that or about the pain afterwards. I am a little nervous about whether I will have prolonged nausea because I'm prone to that after surgery anyway. BUT I am just SO READY!

I agree so ready right! We are the same day so you are not alone!!

Goody someone else from Beautiful Ireland, we have had several recently. We Americans are a mixed bag of nationalities. Malones back on Mama's side, Murphey on Daddy's , got pinched on St Paddys Day the few times I wasn't wearing Green, and my 2 sons names Kevin and Bryan. In fact my Kevin, May his rest be peaceful, as a baby I sang Kevin Barry to him. Poor Bryan, he got The Rising of the Moon, maybe he got cheated? Anyway I was Bypassed on September 5th, recovery hasn't been textbook but I DO NOT regret my surgery, grateful to everyone concerned, wish I hadn't waited until 72, but God arranges, maybe still for the best! 🍀

Ugh that has to be frustrating a little, but there are a bunch of us on that day too lol... sorry but also at least it is just one day right. I have been on the phones with my dr office today because they are making sure they have all the dr.'s reports and clearances of course I left my binder at home so a little frustrated! I think I am second one going back on the 6th I have to be a the hospital at 5:30am for 7:30am procedure but I believe they sometimes take 6:30am patient... I mean it is in fives days basically!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
