TEETH anyone having issues?

Recommended Posts

I am in the final stages of being approved for my surgery. (CPAP use) and I was wondering if anyone had issues with their teeth after surgery? Meaning people with normal teeth before find they are brittle and get cavities worse than ever?

Only 10 months out but nope.

I do however go to the dentist for Every. Little. Thing

I brush minimum of 2x daily, use conventional & alternative toothpaste &powder, floss amd someone mouthwash.

Eating super often does means a lot more oral hygiene requirements

I am supplementing with calcium citrate as recommend

Some people post surgery experience varying dental problems. I personally have not had too much an issue but a friend of mine has had TONS of issues! Multiple cavities, cracked teeth and bridges later! I would ask my surgeon then Follow what your surgeon recommends and honestly I would call your dentist office and ask to speak with your dentist when he is free! He knows your mouth (ie from dental records, xrays or any dental work he has done and his hygienist will have notes in your file about levels of plaque build up and your current oral care habits from a cleaning perspective) I would explain what your doing VSG surgery and what would he recommend so your pearly whites stay just like they are!

Most likely those that have dental issues post WLS are due to not enough Vitamins, Calcium, minerals and the fact our pH changes in our saliva. The most important thing to do is continue with your good dental hygiene regimen and never stop taking your vitamins and calcium.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
