Why take anything in a literal sense?

I took it literally because there didn't seem to be anything metaphorical about it. ;) Don't mind me - I'm just being facetious! ;)

But I do agree with you - if you don't like an article, pass on and ignore it, because someone else might find it useful. I was jut putting an alternative point of view.

I wasn't targeting you with what I typed. I liked your comment a lot and agree with it. I'm that way in certain situations. It was just a general statement.

Maybe I should have said, Don't take it as gospel?

Yeah... the tone of this is definitely not my thing, but I'm glad that others found it motivating/helpful!

This is helpful for people who respond well to this type of encouragement, not helpful for people who don't...

It's just an impression of course but I have a feeling that this kind of pep-talk is very appealing to people who are currently "in the groove" with high motivation going on and who're doing great at the moment anyway.

So it might not (only) depend on personality but it might also depend on the circumstances one is currently in.

Oddly I got the opposite impression, I felt like this is helpful for the lamenters who feel sorry for themselves that respond well to tough love or reality checks,(no offense meant to anyone) this type of thing goes right over my head though... does nothing for me personally.

The only thing I definitely know about this issue is this: let me read something like this after a 24 h shift and I'm tempted to roll the author down a steep hill in a barrel just to shut him or her up.

So as I said, depending on the circumstances one is in... :D

(Anybody wants to guess now what my work day was like?)

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
