6 month anniversary I think I need help

Recommended Posts

Today is my 6 month anniversary i started my journey at 300 lbs I’ve lost 119 pounds since weight loss surgery this is great if I would have known that this would change my life I would have done it years ago but for those of you who started this journey before me I have a question how do I stop? My first goal was 200 lbs then I thought might as well go down to 190 lbs since some friends warned me about the rebound after I got there I thought 185 is a good number but I didn’t want 1 pound less I even started minimizing cardio training and doing more weight training but I practice Jujutsu as well and to make this story short I’m now 181 lbs I feel healthy my cardiologist took away my meds but some family and friends are telling me to not lose anymore

Your body will bottom out at some point, and that's when the "rebound" tends to happen. Pay attention to your BMR and daily burn and how much you are eating, if burn = intake, then the net result should be 0 weight loss.

Honestly, get a DEXA body analysis. I think you have a tiny bit more to lose. But I do think that doing something like P90 or some guy program to build fitness, strength and gain muscle will serve you very well.

How many cals are you eating each day?

You look fantastic btw!!! Congrats on your major accomplishment and hard work!!! Remember, those who love you are used to seeing you fat and see you through different filters than strangers. And we don't see ourselves accurately (most don't). Also in the next year, your body will re-apportion itself so any gaunt looks will be resolved then.

Man! You look great! Don't let anybody else set your weight goal for you. Do whatever makes you feel fit and healthy.

Thx, Dexa body analysis is not available in my country, i started lifting more weights and plan to have a personal trainer for the next 3 months

as for calories im consuming around 800-1000 calories a day but since i`m doing so much exercise, i think i have to consume more, i have an appointment with my nutritionist on Monday.

i agree with you we don`t see ourselves accurately when i see my before pics i don`t remember seeing me that fat lol

Man. I think you should def be consuming more cals and prolly more Protein (although you don't say how much you're getting). They can do about as well using calipers or a submersion test in Water.< br />
It's good you're meeting with your RD. I would think you should be taking in about what @BigViffer eats daily if you are going to start serious weight training.

Wow, GREAT JOB!!

I agree; don't let other people set your goal weight; your body is telling you you it has more to lose. Increasing your calories and Protein intake and beginning weight training will allow you to start defining your muscles. Muscle weighs more than fat, so keep that in mind. ;) 800-1200 is the basal caloric intake, so i'd think you should offset your calories burned with calories eaten to maintain a 1,000 calorie balance (for example, you eat 1800 cal per day, burn 800 cal during exercise, and you're still at a balance of 1000 cal).

Great job!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
