I’m 48 and just accepted by the medical team after losing 10 kg and holding for 6+months. See the surgeon in a couple weeks and looks like surgery around end of October or into November. It’s been a hard road to keep it off but has to be worth it in the long run. Wish I had been able to do it years ago but even now the family isn’t supportive. I still weigh 140kg even running on the treadmill for 30 mins 4 days a week. Whoever said guys can lose weight easy wasn’t looking at me. Just been watching YouTube vids for the first time. Any tips appreciated

Hi fairly new here. I am 45 and was sleeved 8/30. So far everything is doing good except when my 9 yo accidentally pushed on my biggest scar. Surgeon said likely just a contusion to the muscle and area tender.

Sleeved at 44. Wish I would have had this done 20 years ago. At 46, I am healthier and in better shape than I was in my mid 20’s. Will say that a complete body transformation brings its own challenges.

Hi! I'm 44 and was sleeved on 6/13/18.

My high weight was 338 in March 2018 and on my surgery date I weighed 306.8...down 71 lbs. total...40 since my surgery. I feel fabulous and my only regret is not doing this sooner. I have another 100 lbs. to lose and struggle to get my 64 oz. of fluids in, but I stay positive and take it one day at a time. I always get at least 60 grams of Protein and my Vitamins in. Good luck on your journey! You will do great. :)

Hi. I’m 48 and was sleeved 12/28/2017. Definitely relate - my biggest regret, like you, is that I didn’t do it sooner. Wishing you continued success. 🌺

Does anyone know if you can chew sugar free gum during recovery.? If not now how far out or is it out for good?

I was told no. I'd follow up with your team / NUT because everyone's plan is different

40 and sleeved on 8/29/18 I decided when I started this journey to not look back and say I should have done this sooner. Just because for me I believe everything happens when it’s suppose to and thinking about all the should haves and could haves would probably just make me feel bad.

Love your thoughts on this. Although I do wish I had done it sooner when my PCP mentioned it to me 5-6 years ago I have no what if/what could have thoughts. Not until now anyway. LOL

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
