So happy to see this! I was starting to think you all are Jedi masters who never break meanwhile I am in a closet with a candy bar.

So I always just look at everyone’s yummy foods. I never post because I am just so basic LOL and a creature of habit and meal prep for the most part. But today I thought what the heck I will let you see my mundane food lunch I did not photograph. It was chicken casserole. I always use a small dessert plate and one of the pics shows a napkin beside it so you can see it’s not as big as it looks.

So far yes, no one can hear my stomach churning & I don't feel it either, but I am also not eating. I will wait a few months to give my final views on it to be certain.

Hi y’all! Fair warning, I’m posting PUI (posting under the influence) right now! ?????????
Seems I had a serious case of the fomos this week with @GreenTealael having her upcoming VSG to RNY surgery for GERD and @Alex Brecher having his RNY reversal for bowel obstructions/necrosis. I just had to wrap up a pending tri-fecta! LOL
What I thought was a serious case of food poisoning — or as I like to say, “When good refrigerator roulette goes bad”...was actually a sudden onset of internal hernia with twisted gut. It came on so quickly Sunday night and by Tuesday I couldn’t eat. And Wednesday ended up curled up on a cold tile (filthy) floor in the ER convinced I was dying, moaning, sweating profusely and making quite a spectacle! My only regret is I didn’t have a tip jar handy to earn a few quarters!!
It’s a risk of WLS that is part of less than 3% total for complications after surgery—so no need to fear complications from WLS. To put in perspective that 3% is lower than the national averages for all sorts of surgeries!!!
I’m 17 months out from RNY and was just so super surprised by this new development! But initial surgery went very well! I went into surgery at 12 midnight and was back in my room after recovery by 3:45am! Woot! I have a rockstar surgeon and team who were able to do it all laporoscopically!
She said if I play my cards right and am able to eat something later today and get my walking in that I can probably go home late this afternoon! Yeah, baybee!!!
Now I just have to proactively start medicating to guard against having a Rosemary’s Baby sort of post op poo! ??
i’m so grateful to everyone and for our Bariatric Pal Family! Thanks Alex for creating such a special place!
(Oh and I don’t recommend doing it this way, but this morning was back to being only 3.4lbs away from final Goal #3 of 130lbs!!! Woohoo! With my post op plan progression in place I expect to shed this post surgical fluid weight gain in a couple of weeks and reach Goal #3!)

Greetings Everyone! I'm almost 7 months out and doing really well down from 258 to 171 pounds on the scale today!
With a petite frame at 5 feet tall - I wish to continue for a goal around 130 pounds (or less) to feel my best. So far my restriction remains intact, and I adhere strictly to plan + lifestyle. I love my sleeve and grateful to no longer be a slave to toxic foods! So, hopefully... By this December - I might be at goal?! Hitting goal will be the BEST Christmas present from Santa ever. He won't be getting Christmas cookies this year either, but rather crispy carrot sticks and a yummy dip. Haha!
Hope everyone survived the big eating holiday surrounding 4th of July. Oh boy. This year we traded out our traditional hot dogs, potato chips, Pepsi, macaroni salad, apple pie and ice cream FOR shrimp kebobs, grilled street corn, watermelon + tomato salad with roasted hazelnuts (yum!) and sugar free chia chocolate pudding.
It is so inspiring and I feel privileged to know and track with you all. Continued best wishes to all our Sophomores! You rock. Thank you to all our 2018 veterans that propel us forward with their knowledge, experience and insights.

Please ignore this information If does not apply to your situation. (newbies and people in weight loss mode this is not for you)
Are there similarities in bariatric lifestyle and disordered eating? I had to wrap my head around this question in maintenance mode. Where do I draw the line between bariatric healthy habits “rules” and unhealthy obsession? (I’m not diagnosing anyone – Just information to think about)

The following was copied from a website: click here
Orthorexia: The preoccupation with eating healthy. desire to consume pure, healthy foods, obsessing over maintaining a perfect diet rather than an ideal weight. They may cut out any food that is considered unhealthy or impure. Wanting to eat a healthy, pure diet can be a great thing. However, when these compulsive behaviors and mental preoccupations with healthy eating start to impair your quality of life, you may end up suffering from severe weight loss, malnutrition, or some other type of medical condition based on severe diet restrictions. If you are suffering from Orthorexia Nervosa, you may also suffer from negative self-worth, negative body image, and become obsessively dependent on your healthy eating lifestyle to the point of social isolation.
