We splurged tonight, it is my husband’s 65th birthday! (I’m married to an official senior citizen)

I made his favorites: Prime ribeye, which I overcooked a bit, asparagus and mashed potatoes. He’s allergic to wheat so my youngest son and I made him Gluten Free banana bread. Normally sugary/bakery things are pretty good with alternative flours..Not this! I could have bounced it off the floor.

This meal was too dense for me so I didn’t eat much, I forgot how much I love mashed potatoes!

I made up for his rubber bread by using a tacky candle that plays Happy Birthday!

Before and after hospital food. Went to the ER yesterday morning because I was experiencing severe pain on the lower right side of my stomach. Turns out I have a 4 mm kidney stone

Y'ouch!! Hope you are on the mend now! :)

@Sophie7713 your buffet and salad looks amazing! So yummy :D Fresh apricots are delicious if you get a good one, if they are floury not so nice, and if too green they are very sharp flavoured, but one that is just right... Oh Yeah!!!

@ms.sss Wowsers your lobsters and sides looks incredible! We sometimes buy the frozen Canadian lobster tails and they are scrummy.

@Cheeseburgh Your hubby's birthday meal looks lovely, the candle is hilarious!! :D haha, shame about the banana bread, the gooey-ness of the bananas probably weighed down the delicate GF flour quite a lot, not sure what you used, or if you have tried this... but I find 50% Almond flour 50% GF flour a better combination for banana bread when doing GF.

OK so today's lunch salad....

50gm Smoked Salmon with Avo, feta and leaves... super yummy, ate all of mine (smaller one at the back, foreground is hubby's)

approx 215 calories and carbs approx 5.3gm

So far this week of being very careful I have lost 3kg (6.61 lb) I know most is Water weight, but happy with it it's half of what I have put on since isolation.

It was really good actually, we both loved it! :D

No date yet, elective surgery is still up in the air right now, and I am still deciding if I go with my original surgeon in Sydney or find one here in Brisbane... tricky as the Queensland borders are closed still and not expected to open until Sept... makes it a bit hard to plan a date, but I am sooooo ready lol!!

Ok, it was a “Side Dish” feast at Casa SSS tonight! Had a bunch of foods that needed to be used up again!

Meal for me consisted of one lobster tail, one lobster claw, 1/2 a corn cob & maybe 1/4 cup-ish of Brussel Sprouts. Cleaned the plate! Am stuffed.

P.S. the fam LOVES sautéed onions. They can eat it by the bucketful. Im always annoyed with how much it looks like raw vs. how little it looks like after sautée-ing for an hour....

What a pretty spring table setting. That prime rib dinner looks pretty yummy to me despite your critique. Very funny about the banana bread. Let's play catch? Maybe become a door stopper after all that loving effort? Happy 65th milestone hubby Cheeseburgh and here's to many, many more less the brick. Haha.

DELICIOUS and BEAUTIFUL salad! We tried the apricot chia pudding last night. Way too sweet for my tastes now. The recipe calls for cooking them in fresh orange juice (an overkill) - Water next time. And, to think - hubby's carrot cake use to be a favorite! Our Christmas party 2018 right before WLS surgery December 17th. Treasured memories. Glad that sweet tooth, however, has gone bye bye. Anyone else had that fatal attraction for sweets halt after WLS?

omg i LOVE that crown on your head!!!

FUN right! Our balloon master made us each a themed balloon for the evening! I guess I got the crown + jewelry because we were the host/hostess! Diamond ring and necklace, too. (Huge Sophie then) Hubby got a big puppy dog. My favorite was Rudolf the red nose reindeer. Adorable!!! And, that single friend assigned Rudolf as her official date for the evening. Haha. Sure is nice to reflect upon happier times right now... I love Christmas time. Entertaining and cooking...for the joy of all. I wonder what Christmas 2020 will bring forth?

Sorry for the tangent! Back on point. Cabbage Soup for lunch today. Not cold, but a dreary and rainy week here.

Soooo instead of dinner and a movie... Will play dinner and a balloon! Dinner tonight was picadillo basically a cuban stew, and a salad. I ate half portion of each. The balloon close-ups are simply amazing. But even more compelling, I had hired the balloon master for a dinner party five years previous to 2018. He was always very heavy set. He arrived at this party much slimmer. When I walked him out to his car after the event - I commented on how great he looked moving so much easier at his art. He told me he had lost 90 pounds and counting after gastric sleeve surgery. I just grinned and said, you won't believe this but I am scheduled for that same surgery in two weeks! Turns out we also enlisted the same surgeon in Boca Raton! He was such an encouragement (a true Christmas gift) as I had never met anyone who made that journey nor struggled with morbid obesity.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks
