Oooh wee out of surgery, finally out of paper underpants and watching bad renovation tv shows.

Everything's a little tender, but I can feel the gas creeping up to the shoulder. No fluids or anything by mouth until tomorrow. Hankering for a sip of Water.

I do want to pass on how much all of your stories and anecdotes make the anxiety easier, gives you some idea what to expect.

Congratulations! I never had to wear paper pants, lol. Sounds like you are doing pretty well. They had me in icu for 24 hours, what about you, are you already on ward or in icu? Remember to mention everything about how you feel to your surgeon. My surgeon and physician visited daily. We all have different experiences.

Survived day 1. Day 2 so far much better. Only ice chips since surgery but I’m not hungry. Waiting for my upper GI to check for leaks so I can go to Clear Liquids. Everyone is right about the gas. Yesterday the need to burp was so bad I was begging for someone to lean me over their shoulder and slap my back like a baby.

Congratulations! The gas happens with most surgeries. Wait for the farts. Don’t take chances as liquid goes in, liquid comes out. It does settle.

Ok, I'll take one tonight. Surgery is on Monday and they just bumped me up from 12:30 P.M. to 11 A.M. Things are getting real. I'm ready to lose this weight!!! Woot, woot!
Thinking about you. How did it go? How are you??

Glad I didn’t have paper pants lol but could be handy. My surgeon luckily does his own pressure and leak check before he closed so we don’t have to wait or do the barium/GI thing. Amazing how everyone’s program is so different

@Hal711. You’re the sweetest to check in on me. How is your pain now? I remember you asking others right after your surgery. My pain is what I was not expecting. First, it was my back. It was a constant throb even with pain meds. I guess it was from how they positioned me during surgery on the table. Now it’s all about the left side where the main entry point was on my abdomen. It’s so hard to get out of bed and shift around. I learned quickly to stay on top of the pain meds or else I would feel really lousy. I actually stayed an extra night by choice because the nurse staff are sooooo sweet and so pampering. It will be harder when I get home as I’ll have to really work on liquids. I can barely stomach anything right now so the bag of vitamins/liquids they give constantly are helping me survive. I’m pretty drowsy most of the time from the Oxycodone and nausea meds but sleeping it off feels good. It’s crazy how I have no hunger. I’ve eaten nothing since I’ve been here which was Monday 7/25 and today I’m entering my 4th day. The surgeon is going to discharge me today so I believe I’ll be going home around Noon. We have a circular hallway walk on my floor I’m on that measures 400 meters so I’ve been trying to make the loop a minimum of 4 times per day so I can get a mile in. Mentally I think I’m ok. I just worry about eating and drinking. It’s such a challenge but I know Incan do it. How are you? Tired still? Just taking Tylenol? Thanks again for checking in on me. Means a lot.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks
