Sleeve on May 21. Down 46lbs since april 27. Feeling very lucky. No nausea after first week and no vomiting. Started pureed foods a few days ago- scrambled eggs, deviled eggs, mashed potatoes, green Beans, apple sauce ,pintos and cheese- tolerated them well. Still amazed at how little it takes to become full!! Good luck to all!

I will be 4 weeks post op on June 10th. I am on my soft food stage (seafood, eggs, soft cheese only). And I am at my first stall 😫

i also only eat less than 2 ounces of food twice a day (so no more than 4 ounces a day) and I do not feel full or like I need to stop. My NUT said most people eat between 1-3 ounces at a time and feel satisfied. I am bypass by the way.

I am still having my Protein Drinks and reaching my Protein & Water goal. I hope this stall breaks soon!

I’m stalled too! I’m down 19lbs since surgery and have been stuck here for a week. Super annoying.

I was sleeved on May 22. I am now eating soft Proteins only. Once l started eating I stopped loosing weight. I am having a difficult time eating because I am not hungry. I haven’t had a problem with 1 oz of tuna with Greek yogurt, 1 scrambled egg with cheese and bacon, or a grilled chicken nuggets. It takes 30 minutes to eat and I am full but no overly so. I drink a Protein Shake in the morning. Has anyone noticed a stall when going to a the next stage? I’ve only lost 18lbs since surgery and 31lbs since starting this journey. I am 23lbs from my first GW.

Hi again guys! I’m able to get down some soft foods. Not meat sits well other than slow cooked shredded chicken. I’m sticking to veggies for now. And cheese and yogurt. That’s been all good!
Because of my complications, I lost a little over 30 lbs between May 10 and a week ago. Now I’m stalled. Ah the good old 3 week stall! But I’m not freaking out since i lost so much initially from basically starving. As long as I stopped being stalled in the next 2 weeks, I’m ok with it.
I’ve dropped from a morbidly obese BMI to obese BMI. Who would have thought I’d be so happy to just be obese 😂
I’m going to do the measuring tonight because all my clothes are falling off.
I hope everyone is doing great!

I weighed myself yesterday, and have lost 23 pounds since surgery on 5/2. Of course, I wish it were more but I marks 50 lbs lost since I started the classes to prep for surgery in November, and over half a pound per day. I have never lost this much weight before!
I am still in the same pant size I was wearing 50 pounds ago, but they are starting to feel a bit bigger, but still nothing substantial. It is amazing that I can lose this much weight and not feel a HUGE difference.

You should contact the app developers, I’ve had a few issues since the most recent update too!

I was sleeved on 5/21. Highest weight was 315lbs, surgery day weight was 308lbs. Today I am down to 275lbs, so that makes my loss since surgery 33lbs in under 3 weeks.

I’ve been at this weight for over a week. I’m meeting my goals. On purees. Following rules to the letter. Getting in between 550-700 calories and monitoring my macros. However, since I seem to be losing inches, I’m just going to chill about the pounds and let my body adjust. I guess Spanx and I will be friends while I am between the next dress size!

Make sure you differentiate between diarrhea and just looser stool. When all you have is liquid going in, liquid is going to come out.

Diarrhea is more frequent bowel movements throughout the day and a feeling of not being able to hold it.

if you’re having one or two bowel movements a day, I would say that’s normal (according to my team).

I also learned I can’t handle milk based Protein cause I was having the worst diarrhea with that. Hope you feel better!

Loose stool is one thing.
However, liquid going in will come out via your urinary tract.
If it’s coming out elsewhere, that’s not cool or a normal result of a full liquid diet.< br /> I switched to all plant based Proteins and bone broths. Solved my problem after 9 days and no answers from surgeon and a host of testing. You might want to start there. (It took another 5-6 days of very loose stools before o had enough control to leave the house.) It’s a process.

My surgery date was May 4th - I'm 5 weeks out and lost 20 lbs since surgery. I feel great but I really thought it would be more by now .I haven't lost anything for about 2 weeks now and I don't want to get discouraged and I'm having a hard time trying to decide what to eat .

Hello. First post and I am really having some problems. I eat and instantly throw up. I have slowed down, smaller bites and even only eating @ 2 oz... always vomit. At times, I vomit slimy saliva then the food comes. Vomiting almost the whole meal. Does anyone have this problem? I have no problems with fluids. 🤷🏻‍♀️

I’m in a similar boat. My surgery was on the 2nd, On Friday I’d lost 23 pounds. That didn’t seem like a lot to me, then I realized it’s over half a pound a day, which is pretty great. I think it’s easy to want to see drastic changes, but slow is good for your body. And “slow” in this context is actually pretty fast! I’ve read it is common to Stall around week 3.

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

Iʻm roughly 6 weeks post-op this morning and have begun to feel like a normal human, with a normal human body again. I started introducing solid foods and pill forms of medications/supplements a couple of weeks ago and it's really amazing to eat meals with my family again, despite the fact that my portions are so much smaller than theirs.
I live on the island of Oʻahu and spend a lot of time in the water- for exercise, for play,  and for spiritual & mental health. The day I had my month out appointment with my surgeon, I packed all my gear in my truck, anticipating his permission to get back in the ocean. The minute I walked out of that hospital I drove straight to the shore and got in that water. Hallelujah! My appointment was at 10 am. I didn't get home until after 5 pm.
I'm down 31 pounds since the day of surgery and 47 since my pre-op diet began, with that typical week long stall occurring at three weeks. I'm really starting to see some changes lately- some of my clothing is too big, some fits again. The most drastic changes I notice however are in my face. I've also noticed my endurance and flexibility increasing. I was really starting to be held up physically, and I'm so grateful that I'm seeing that turn around in such short order.
My general disposition lately is hopeful and motivated. The only thing that bugs me on a daily basis still is the way those supplements make my house smell. So stink! But I just bought a smell proof bag online that other people use to put their pot in. My house doesn't stink anymore.

Oh yeah, something I wanted to rant about, a billing dispute that cropped up 3 months ago.
Surgery was in August of 2023. A bill shows up for over $7,000 in January. WTF? I asks myself. I know that I jumped through all of the insurance hoops and verified this and triple checked that, as did the surgeon's office. All was set, and I paid all of the known costs before surgery.
A looong story short, is that an assistant surgeon that was in the process of accepting money from my insurance company touched me while I was under anesthesia. That is what the bill was for. But hey, guess what? Some federal legislation was enacted last year to help patients out when they cannot consent to being touched by someone out of their insurance network. These types of bills fall under something called, "surprise billing," and you don't have to put up with it.
      https://www.cms.gov/nosurprises
I had to make a lot of phone calls to both the surgeon's office and the insurance company and explain my rights and what the maximum out of pocket costs were that I could be liable for. Also had to remind them that it isn't my place to be taking care of all of this and that I was going to escalate things if they could not play nice with one another.
Quick ending is that I don't have to pay that $7,000+. Advocate, advocate, advocate for yourself no matter how long it takes and learn more about this law if you are ever hit with a surprise bill.
