I have to laugh. She is so self involved that she thinks that *I* think she is fat.

Uh. Yeah. Truth is I don't care. I just don't think about anyone else's weight but mine. Even DH's weight doesn't concern me.

Whenever she goes on about thin people being ugly, and unattractive I think of this;

Æsop. (Sixth century B.C.) Fables.

The Harvard Classics. 1909–14.

The Fox and the Grapes

ONE hot summer’s day a Fox was strolling through an orchard till he came to a bunch of Grapes just ripening on a vine which had been trained over a lofty branch. “Just the things to quench my thirst,” quoth he. Drawing back a few paces, he took a run and a jump, and just missed the bunch. Turning round again with a One, Two, Three, he jumped up, but with no greater success. Again and again he tried after the tempting morsel, but at last had to give it up, and walked away with his nose in the air, saying: “I am sure they are sour.”

“IT IS EASY TO DESPISE WHAT YOU CANNOT GET.”

but I found what you all are talking about. I think.

Laurend-I hadnt been on here for awhile, your numbers are looking good!

I am at a standstill, and went to get another fill 3-31. Now I have next to no restriction, I feel like I am sliding down hill backwards here. I wonder if he took some accidently instead of putting some in? Does that happen very often?

Thanks!

I don't want to scare you, but if you had restriction before you went for the fill, you should have more restriction now. With a sudden lack of restriction, I'd worry about a slip. Definitely call your doctor and have them check you out. They may have made a mistake when they were giving you the fill, but you definitely want to check and make sure that nothing else is going on.

It makes perfect sense if she is displaying Anorexic behavior. And a lot of people here are stuck so far up her ass they can't see daylight. Seeing sense here is uncommon.

I do have to question why we are supposed to NOT talk about trying to get to / getting to a healthy BMI because some people don't want to / can't get to a healthy BMI?

Why are we supposed to be sensitive to people who call a healthy BMI ugly and unattractive?

You know, I have no idea. I'm certainly not yet at a "healthy" BMI, but even I can see that overweight is overweight is overweight. Is it healthier than "morbidly obese?" Sure. But it still isn't as healthy as "healthy," no two ways about it. It's why you get told by your doctor that you need to lose a few. It's why, all other things being equal (family disease history, smoking habits, etc.), an overweight person will pay more for health insurance than a person with BMI in the healthy range. It's 'cause overweight people are statistically not as healthy as people with a "normal" BMI!

Why is it apparently so hard to recognize that and own it? Thinking you look best with a BMI of 28 is great, but it doesn't change the fact that those extra pounds are likely to carry with them a few extra health issues that a person with a BMI of, say, 23, isn't as likely to have.

I'll be completely blunt. Screw that. My personal journey is not done until I reach a normal BMI and I'll be damned if I am going to agree to being told that I have to keep my mouth shut to keep other happy because I can see that a normal BMI is the healthiest option. Others can do whatever the heck they want but they HAVE TO realise that any BMI above a normal one is going to carry with it higher health risks. Thats a proven medical FACT that they just cannot dispute.

I think it's just hilarious that we all sit here and talk about this. Does she not have a clue?

Oh and I can't remember who asked, but yes, once I went in for a fill and totally lost all my fill. Dr. pulled out what was in there, and must have missed the port when he put it back in. I went back in a few days and he said "you have no saline" I told him "why do you think I am back here?" I don't have a leak, cause I am at my sweet spot now. So yes, it does happen. How it happens is still a mystery to me.

Maybe I should have a fill so I can get to goal by puking and becoming malnourished.:redface:

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
