Ha! Very funny!!!! Don't know why you'd think that.

Um....what year? I'm not good w/the newer cars. Daggone 'puters and stuff.

I'm an upstanding citizen at this point in my life, but if there were a nuclear event and people had to live wild - I'd be okay.

I learned all I need to know from Red Dawn. Get me to the mountains, give me access to a hunting supply store, and some big puffy down coats, and feathered hair - I'd be good to go.

THAT'S our Glouc!

Okay, I am officially exhausted.

Hubby's still recuperating from surgery, so I took on the mowing today. We mow our yard and the old lady's next door who died a few months back (he was mowing before she died too... to help out).

So I did two yards and didn't end there. I picked up dog doo, raked, swept, weeded, cut numerous low-hanging branches off a tree, tore the lattice-work out from under the deck (too many holes in it [bought it with some damange]), hauled huge branches out to the street... omg, I started about 2:00 and didn't end until after 7:00.

I oughtta sleep good tonight! Which is fine, because hubby and I (since he's been off) have been on a REALLY late-night binge lately (last night we were up until almost 5:00am!). I NEED to get on a schedule, as I have some homework that needs to be done tomorrow.

I downloaded my GoWear Fit at 8:00pm and had already burned nearly 2700 calories, and I have my max set at 2200 (leaving a thousand-calorie deficit, so I only really take in 1200).

Did I say I was tired?

And no, Lu, don't even ask. lol

Dang girl! That is one busy day! You were a regular landscaping crew all by yourself. I get in those moods every so often and watch out!

I have a few branches that need trimming - noticed them yesterday when I was out mowing the pasture. Trying to decide if I need the chainsaw or the pullsaw? Chainsaw is faster - decision made!

You should get some good sleep tonight!

Beth, working off those mojitos perhaps? You're hilarious when you post drunk, BTW. Sounds like you had some pent up energy. Hubby still on meds??

Hi everybody! Hope you're all having a great holiday weekend. I'm dodging raindrops to get in the pool. And for some real fun, I'm gonna grocery shop tomorrow. Look out world, TPG is on the loose. I hate grocery shopping. Lots. Might toss in a trip to Target too. I like to live on the edge. Tues. I get to see the doc for my psych eval.

This'll prolly be my last post. I'm sure the shrink will be sending me to the nut farm - aka macadamia ranch...If I gnaw thru the restraints, I'll try to make contact...

Take care and Happy Labor Day.

Crap, did I post last night??

And yes, hubby is still on meds. I told him I was working out my sexual frustration (since the meds interfere, damnit...). He said, Shoot, you ought to be sexually frustrated more often. I said, Who says I'm not? This time I just acted on it.

This'll prolly be my last post.

How come???

Morning everyone! This is just my internal clock check in. I plan to attempt to go back to sleep. We shall see how that goes.

I hope everyone has a great day (uneventful or exciting, you decide)!

G'mornin' slim! I would HATE to have your internal clock since I'm a late-nighter.

I was so tired from the yard work I did yesterday but went to bed and couldn't get to sleep. I went up about 12:30 and read until about 1:00 with the intent of getting on a more "normal" (for me) schedule since I need to start budgeting my time. So much for that...

PJTP: WHY I HATE SALT!!!

I have GOT to figure it's salt cuz this just ain't normal. The other day I was 223.5. Then the next day, Saturday, I was 228! Then yesterday I was 230.5!!! OH MY FREAKIN' GOD! I'm back down to 228 this morning, but there's nothing else I can attribute this to other than salt. Not that I've knowingly done anything especially salty -- but the night before the first jump I had hubby's steak (marinated with, I believe, soy and other stuff), and then the next jump was after his chicken (also marinated with, I believe, soy and other stuff).

I HATE seeing stuff like that happen.

Yesterday I was so busy I hardly ate enough to keep a goldfish alive (which I also know doesn't help).

I just wanted to say AAARRRRRRGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!:cursing::blush:

Better luck next time Beth. I am not sure at what point my body decided that 4:30 was an excellent time to get up, but I really hate it on days when I don't have to work.

I am sitting here attempting to eat some Greek yogurt. I made the mistake of tasting a piece of meat this morning well before my body was ready for solid food. I didn't PB or anything like that, but it still feels like the meat is sitting in my throat. Yucky feeling. It made my coffee go down slow. This yogurt is causing some strange noises going down. This does not bode well for my dinner plans.

I am so sorry Beth. I know that feeling so well. It will drop again in no time flat.

Stuck food, ugh... And I find I just simply make more weird noises no matter what. Like a coffee percolater. lol

You know what I found strange? And I mentioned this to DH the other day. I don't know if there is ANY correlation whatsoever, but since doing the pouch test, I don't have such a sensitive pouch anymore. I mean, the food stays with me when I eat, but I had many mornings when even drinking down my Protein Shake could take way longer than it should have due to tightness. I haven't had that since doing the test. Weird, huh?

I know... and still keeping with the "diet mentality," I see it as a negative, even though I know it will drop in a couple days. But still...

Maybe doing the pouch test allowed your pouch to heal from abuse? It makes sense. Your pouch is rested from churning. I need to do the pouch test just because I feel like I need a fill on most days. I know that every time that I have done it (I never make it the full 5 days), I have come out of feeling the pouch is working better for me.

he's in pyscho workout mode right now & i don't see that happening.

i much rather some poached eggs on some yummy cream sauce w/a bloody mary (won't weigh if i do)

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

Iʻm roughly 6 weeks post-op this morning and have begun to feel like a normal human, with a normal human body again. I started introducing solid foods and pill forms of medications/supplements a couple of weeks ago and it's really amazing to eat meals with my family again, despite the fact that my portions are so much smaller than theirs.
I live on the island of Oʻahu and spend a lot of time in the water- for exercise, for play,  and for spiritual & mental health. The day I had my month out appointment with my surgeon, I packed all my gear in my truck, anticipating his permission to get back in the ocean. The minute I walked out of that hospital I drove straight to the shore and got in that water. Hallelujah! My appointment was at 10 am. I didn't get home until after 5 pm.
I'm down 31 pounds since the day of surgery and 47 since my pre-op diet began, with that typical week long stall occurring at three weeks. I'm really starting to see some changes lately- some of my clothing is too big, some fits again. The most drastic changes I notice however are in my face. I've also noticed my endurance and flexibility increasing. I was really starting to be held up physically, and I'm so grateful that I'm seeing that turn around in such short order.
My general disposition lately is hopeful and motivated. The only thing that bugs me on a daily basis still is the way those supplements make my house smell. So stink! But I just bought a smell proof bag online that other people use to put their pot in. My house doesn't stink anymore.

Oh yeah, something I wanted to rant about, a billing dispute that cropped up 3 months ago.
Surgery was in August of 2023. A bill shows up for over $7,000 in January. WTF? I asks myself. I know that I jumped through all of the insurance hoops and verified this and triple checked that, as did the surgeon's office. All was set, and I paid all of the known costs before surgery.
A looong story short, is that an assistant surgeon that was in the process of accepting money from my insurance company touched me while I was under anesthesia. That is what the bill was for. But hey, guess what? Some federal legislation was enacted last year to help patients out when they cannot consent to being touched by someone out of their insurance network. These types of bills fall under something called, "surprise billing," and you don't have to put up with it.
      https://www.cms.gov/nosurprises
I had to make a lot of phone calls to both the surgeon's office and the insurance company and explain my rights and what the maximum out of pocket costs were that I could be liable for. Also had to remind them that it isn't my place to be taking care of all of this and that I was going to escalate things if they could not play nice with one another.
Quick ending is that I don't have to pay that $7,000+. Advocate, advocate, advocate for yourself no matter how long it takes and learn more about this law if you are ever hit with a surprise bill.
