I hate it when people post just to post.....

Recommended Posts

I know this is the Posting Just To Post thread which means anything goes. However, certain things deserve their very own thread. May I suggest for those of you who feel the need to discuss bodily functions ad nauseum that you start a new thread called Bodily Functions? It blows my mind how a sweet innocent comment about a baby tooting can get degraded into nasty, stinky, adult farts. Nothing sweet about that!

So sorry Dona. I was just wondering if this is just a problem for me, or is it a bandster thing.

Donna, what have you done? I suddenly have several requests to join people's mobs. I will not succumb to the addiction like I did on myspace, I refuse.

Ok its funny that you guys are on the topic of farts at the moment because I had a new co worker start sitting at the desk next to me on Monday. She's settled in VERY quickly and we already know all about how her baby daddy left her and she's a single Mum and lives in a granny flat and doesn't have a car but is the coach for a cheerleading team and so on and so forth blah blah blah. I know more about her in 4 days than I do about some of the people I have worked 6 months with. Today, I thought I heard her fart. Loudly. I ignored it and carried on my work, and so did she. Then later, she did it again LOUDER but excused her self this time. Then a another co worker told me that he had been showing her some work on his computer and she farted just standing there and carried on like nothing had happened. Am I out of the loop? Is farting loudly and in the vicinity of your workmates socially acceptable now?

I was in shock, and I wouldn't call myself a prude by any stretch of the word, but manners go a long way!

Oh how I wish that we would go back to some modicum of manners, omg. Surprisingly, (most of) the guys at my office let women off/on the elevator first. It's lovely! But I definitely do wish that "thank you," "please," "excuse/pardon me," et al would come back in fashion!!!

Ditto, and double ditto! Nothing like a guy in makeup, heels, and feminine clothes looking better than me to really boost my ego!

Mortgage payment vs. plastic surgery...not a big debate!

They do, and they have gone a long way - a long way from common use! I was moderately comforted that while in California I attended (as an observer) my nephew's cotillion class, and besides the obvious learning to dance REAL dances (waltz, cha cha, etc), they had etiquette lessons. IF only 1/2 of the participants remember and practice 1/2 of the lessons civilization has a small chance!

Ha re: trannies!

Those picky mortgage companies wanting a payment every doggone month!

Etiquette lessons - be still my heart!

We don't normally get to 70 either. Our normal for this time of year is around 50. I was shocked that we went from possible snow this past weekend to spring like weather this weekend (or so they predict).

And it'll freezing again next week or so, sigh

PJTP: I went shopping in my closet today and fit into several things I haven't been able to wear in well over 2 years. Yay! :cursing:

Awesome!! :)

I went shopping in california.........serious shopping...and I hate hate hate shopping!

I despise shopping. I wish the items would just *poof* and be in my house!

No fart problems, thankfully, but I can have some great burps!!! But farting in public is reprehensible!

My closet was bare - even DH commented that I needed some clothes 'cause he was sick of seeing me in the same 2 suits for work.

I suggest adding in "naughty schoolgirl". That particular one has earned me many promotions.

How funny tap. I finally had to break down and get new work uniforms.

You mean "Hooters" doesn't supply them gratis? *zing*

Anybody else getting a "BBW singles" margin advert on their screens or is it just me? That made me LOL.

I enjoy it when it goes well. I just dropped a bundle on a wet suite and some other exercise clothes and it was fun.

Well, except leaving my wedding ring in the changing room and having to go back after the store closed to get it! That was just stressful.

I'm getting them too. Because apparently Google AdSense thinks I'm a lesbian!

Yes indeed, etiquette lessons...the proper way to sit, pass a tray, ask a woman to dance, serve a drink, how to make small talk, etc .And on the dance floor, the chaperones were giving reminders eg. gentlemen, your partner is a lady; this is a dance not a demolition derby. Your objective is to AVOID obstacles (such as other couples) and dance her around the entire floor without hitting anyone. Ladies, this is not a mud wrestling pit, nor a fight to death. The man leads. You follow.

Question: when did uh-huh become the accepted response to 'thank you'? Is this a California thing, or has it infiltrated other regions, but is slow to move north? It is very disconcerting, and unappealing...for each and every time I said 'thank you' to a salesperson, or anyone, the inevitable response was NOT 'You're welcome" or 'My pleasure" or 'No problem'...it was uh-huh.

I suggest adding in "naughty schoolgirl". That particular one has earned me many promotions.

Yet another image of Plain burned into my retina...with pigtails, skirt, decolletage exposing shirt...out, out I say!!!

Good morning all - above freezing again today, AND a Friday - can it get any better???

Tap, and everyone else, HAPPY FRIDAY!!! It is going to be 80 here today, I am so happy my bones will finally get warm.

Tap, push the schoolgirl image of Plain out of your mind. If not, it could result in permanent damage!

Unfortunately, they wouldn't hire me. They said that after seeing you in your "hooters" uniform, no one else would do.

If a salesperson did that to me (or numerous ones), I would probably give them a quick lesson: The proper response to "thank you" is something along the lines of "you're welcome," and walk away.

I was SOOOO tempted, but I refrained. It was prevalent - salespeople; servers in restaurants; airline personnel; even people whom I would thank for holding open a door...everyone responded with 'uh-huh'. My sister (who is no longer shocked/dismayed by this as she lives it every day) commented that perhaps no one knows how to respond to thanks as they hear it so infrequently!

I am comforted to know that I am not an anachronism...it isn't just me!!!

Ok, am I the only one getting a little orange banner in the bottom right corner of the screen that says "give feedback" on it?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

Iʻm roughly 6 weeks post-op this morning and have begun to feel like a normal human, with a normal human body again. I started introducing solid foods and pill forms of medications/supplements a couple of weeks ago and it's really amazing to eat meals with my family again, despite the fact that my portions are so much smaller than theirs.
I live on the island of Oʻahu and spend a lot of time in the water- for exercise, for play,  and for spiritual & mental health. The day I had my month out appointment with my surgeon, I packed all my gear in my truck, anticipating his permission to get back in the ocean. The minute I walked out of that hospital I drove straight to the shore and got in that water. Hallelujah! My appointment was at 10 am. I didn't get home until after 5 pm.
I'm down 31 pounds since the day of surgery and 47 since my pre-op diet began, with that typical week long stall occurring at three weeks. I'm really starting to see some changes lately- some of my clothing is too big, some fits again. The most drastic changes I notice however are in my face. I've also noticed my endurance and flexibility increasing. I was really starting to be held up physically, and I'm so grateful that I'm seeing that turn around in such short order.
My general disposition lately is hopeful and motivated. The only thing that bugs me on a daily basis still is the way those supplements make my house smell. So stink! But I just bought a smell proof bag online that other people use to put their pot in. My house doesn't stink anymore.

Oh yeah, something I wanted to rant about, a billing dispute that cropped up 3 months ago.
Surgery was in August of 2023. A bill shows up for over $7,000 in January. WTF? I asks myself. I know that I jumped through all of the insurance hoops and verified this and triple checked that, as did the surgeon's office. All was set, and I paid all of the known costs before surgery.
A looong story short, is that an assistant surgeon that was in the process of accepting money from my insurance company touched me while I was under anesthesia. That is what the bill was for. But hey, guess what? Some federal legislation was enacted last year to help patients out when they cannot consent to being touched by someone out of their insurance network. These types of bills fall under something called, "surprise billing," and you don't have to put up with it.
      https://www.cms.gov/nosurprises
I had to make a lot of phone calls to both the surgeon's office and the insurance company and explain my rights and what the maximum out of pocket costs were that I could be liable for. Also had to remind them that it isn't my place to be taking care of all of this and that I was going to escalate things if they could not play nice with one another.
Quick ending is that I don't have to pay that $7,000+. Advocate, advocate, advocate for yourself no matter how long it takes and learn more about this law if you are ever hit with a surprise bill.
