Summer 2018 Surgery Buddies Check In Here!

I would love to make some surgery buddies now so we can go through all the pre-op requirements together and stick through surgery and beyond. Anyone else already know their surgery will occur this summer?

My surgery is going to fall in the July or August time frame. Most of this is dependent upon checking all my surgeon's boxes, the rest is dependent upon my financing since I'm self-pay. I'll be getting the sleeve.

I love my surgeon and feel really lucky to have found him. So far the pre-op stuff has gone smoothly, but I am just at the beginning stages. I've scheduled all my evals and classes and attended my first weight loss class last week. I found it to be mildly helpful. It was certainly geared more toward those that hadn't already read through the surgery binder and/or those that had no clue what healthy eating consisted of. I'm hoping future classes focus more on the post-op eating.

My first visit with my PCP about this surgery is next week as that's the soonest I could get in to see her. I'm hoping she'll be supportive as my surgeon knew of her when I told him that's who I see. But if I have to find another PCP so be it.

My first dietician appt is next week and psych eval is the week after that. I only have to get these three meetings out of the way to schedule my surgery. So I'm anxious to get that done!

I'm excited to hear from others along the same timeline as me!

PCOSSUCKS,

That is so scary! I don't understand what caused it, and it's definitely not something you should have had to go through or your family! Wow just wow. Certainly hope for smooth sailing from here on out for you! ❤️❤️

Yay!!! ???

I started my 2 week pre op diet today. Feeling good but it's only noon lol. We'll see how I'm doing in a few days. I know it's just temporary. I am allowed one lean protien/veggies meal a day. I need to get more veggies so my plan is to do grocery pickup. That way I'm not tempted in the store.

Keep us updated as it goes along, I should have my surgery in July and I still don't know if OSU puts you on a 2 week liquid. prediet or notm So I'll keep on learning everything I can so I can be prepared.?☔?
I am having Lap Band surgery June 15th! I had some difficulty with the hospital not figuring out my costs correctly. But, now I’m approved and ready to go.

Hang in there!! The end is not far off!! You can see the light at the end of the tunnel! Hope it continues to go well.

I’m not scheduled for my surgery yet, but hopefully in the next few weeks I’ll get a date! I had a bleep on my EKG and they’re going to do a Sonagram to check my heart a little closer. I don’t want this to change my date or cause other tests!

Today wasn't terrible! Made a chicken and veggie stir fry for dinner. Was strange not to have rice but ehhh I'll live. What's funny is that my kids (who are 11 and 14)are thrilled with the dinners I have planned this week [emoji23][emoji23]. Their enthusiasm for salmon and broccoli is quite hilarious. It also makes this whole process easier.

That sounds good! My pre-surgery diet is liquids only for two weeks before the surgery. Protein shakes, sugar free jello, broth, etc.

Wishing you lots of positive thoughts

Far better that, Trixie 82, than "Ychh I'm not eating That!" Maybe you had better keep them after all! Hope everything continues so well I'm a next monther so haven't gotten into the liquid pre but I can cheer you? on so....

Our friend Trixie 82- she's really great!?????
My Pre-op Appointment is Tuesday so I should be starting my liquid diet soon! So excited!

Yippy! Almost there!

8 days down on pre opt diet 6 more days till surgery!!! Liquid diet is rough in the beginning getting better. Made a big pot of homemade chicken vegetable soup. It has kept me satisfied. I add carrots, celery, and green onion to the broth. My husband and kids got the chicken lol.
