How long after sleeve does it take for swelling in stomach to go down. It's been 4 days since my sleeve?

I don’t remember exactly how long-was sleeved in August-but it will. It may take a couple weeks bc your body is adjusting and you’re still full of post surgery fluids, swollen from all that they did and medications. I do remember post c-section, after 2 weeks I saw a huge difference and felt normal at 6 weeks. Hang in there!! It’s gonna be so worth it before you know it!! Congratulations on having your surgery! It has been the best choice I have ever made!

It took 6 weeks for my belly to go down after baby#3, doubt if mine will flatten any sooner after this! Main difference:- I got a cute little baby that time, this time I have to make my own kind of cuteness. A challenge but I'm up for it, are you too?[emoji6]

I was wondering the same at 4 days out. The first week I was extremely bloated and swollen despite walking 2-3 miles a day. Second week I started to feel normal and swelling was gone by day 10.

Hey

I was sleeved 3/16. After about two weeks my tummy went back to normal. I had a few gas episodes before it went down. The bloat and swollen stomach are real!

I was done on 3/27 But they also had to dig out a 7 year old lap band that had twisted.....ugh.

I feel some relief today it's been 1 week, can't wait till next week!

Every day every way you're going to get better, this I believe. Reading all your stories I am still filled with hope for my own. Even the pain sorrow and ultimate triumphs, I want and someday shall share. Fight the good fight, be a beacon for me along the pathway and maybe next month I'll be there joining you on the walk forward toward fitness and health.[emoji13]

Feeling the struggle! I had mine on 3/29 and am still quite swollen. Not going back to work until next Monday, but worried about my pants irritating this swollen belly of mine! Guessing Spanx are a bad idea so not sure about wearing dresses... Congrats to you!

I ended up wrapping myself in a binder and that helps greatly.

Just don't sleep in it

I just wish my second week was over already.....ugh

I am losing weight rapidly, so that's good I lost 14 pounds in a week. But I cannot walk because I'm way too dizzy.

Tent like dresses, minimal wristbands so I would not go with skirts unless they have stretch waists, leggings, loose soft knit pants. Someday you'll be back in Levis,[emoji158] I just want out of Added Dimension and Just My Size and to roam no longer at Roamans and to push Bryant down a slippery farm Lane.[emoji3]

Oh yeah, something I wanted to rant about, a billing dispute that cropped up 3 months ago.
Surgery was in August of 2023. A bill shows up for over $7,000 in January. WTF? I asks myself. I know that I jumped through all of the insurance hoops and verified this and triple checked that, as did the surgeon's office. All was set, and I paid all of the known costs before surgery.
A looong story short, is that an assistant surgeon that was in the process of accepting money from my insurance company touched me while I was under anesthesia. That is what the bill was for. But hey, guess what? Some federal legislation was enacted last year to help patients out when they cannot consent to being touched by someone out of their insurance network. These types of bills fall under something called, "surprise billing," and you don't have to put up with it.
      https://www.cms.gov/nosurprises
I had to make a lot of phone calls to both the surgeon's office and the insurance company and explain my rights and what the maximum out of pocket costs were that I could be liable for. Also had to remind them that it isn't my place to be taking care of all of this and that I was going to escalate things if they could not play nice with one another.
Quick ending is that I don't have to pay that $7,000+. Advocate, advocate, advocate for yourself no matter how long it takes and learn more about this law if you are ever hit with a surprise bill.

Some days I feel like an infiltrator... I'm participating in society as a "thin" person. They have no idea that I haven't always been one of them! 🤣

Thank you everyone for your well wishes! I totally forgot I wrote an update here... I'm one week post op today. I gained 15 lbs in water weight overnight because they had to give me tons of fluids to bring my BP up after surgery! I stayed one night in the hospital. Everything has been fine except I seem to have picked up a bug while I was there and I've been running a low grade fever, coughing, and a sore throat. So I've been hydrating well and sleeping a ton. So far the Covid tests are negative.
I haven't been able to advance my diet past purees. Everything I eat other than tofu makes me choke and feels like trying to swallow rocks. They warned me it would get worse before it gets better, so lets hope this is all normal. I have my follow up on Monday so we'll see. Living on shakes and soup again is not fun. I had enough of them the first time!! LOL

Still purging all of the larger clothing. This morning, a shirt that I ADORED wearing ended up on top. Hard to let it go, but it was also hard to let go of those habits that also no longer serve my highest good. Onward and upward!
